Well, appearantly the man pumped out one last book before his surprising death last year, and it's due out this summer. So far it doesn't have a title, and I can't find any info on what it's about.
I've been a Crichton fan ever since Jurassic Park mania hit when I was a kid. Some of his books are better than others, but I can always count on this man to come up with an interesting and unique storyline.
Anybody got any info on his swan song? If so, I'll be happy to hear it.

This is news to me. I'll check it out when it's released. I can't seem to find any solid information either, though.

Well, here we are. Crichton's final novel is Pirate Latitudes, which is about a pirate and the governer of Jamaica hoping to score some Spanish treasure. It's due out November 24th. Kind of disappointed. On one hand it's sounds like a throwback to earlier stuff like Eaters of the Dead and the Great Train Robbery. On the other, I really, really, really, really, really, really hate pirate stories (that includes Johnny Depp). An unfinished book is mentioned and untitled. All that is known is that it's a technological thriller and they shall attempt to finish it based upon Crichton's own notes. Not sure how to react to that. Kind of indifferent to that news.

I'll be honest, I was hoping it would be set in the modern day with cutting edge technology and a classic mixture of real and pseudoscience. I should probably reread some of Crichton's novels that take place in historical times, but for better or for worse, I've enjoyed his more recent techno-thrillers more.
