What's the difference between Rifftrax and The Film Crew? It's the same people, right? Is one better than the other? Do I ask too many questions?

Same dudes, different format. Film Crew released DVDs, Rifftrax (mostly) releases mp3 commentaries.
The "which is better" question is moot, as Film Crew no longer exists. Rifftrax is the word.

Look at Film Crew as a forerunner to Rifftrax. It was more similar to what Cinematic Titanic are doing (DVD releases, MST style movies, sketches) than what Rifftrax is.

But watching it with the Rifftrax was just hilarious. You picked a great one to start with. Star Trek V is one of my favorites. And Star Trek VI isn't too shabby either. ST VII is a bit of a step down IMHO but still has many funny moments.

Rifftrax are better by a mile. I'm happy to see someone else with this opinion. I enjoyed Film Crew, like I enjoy everything the trio does, but I thought the riffing in FC was much sparser and did not reach the heights of many rifftrax. I got the feeling that they were getting back into the swing of things with Film Crew. By the time they got to Rifftrax, they were back in shape again.

Also Film Crew riffed on old obscure B movies. Rifftrax riffs more on newer movies that you can get at a DVD store.
