So thanks in large part to MJ bringing up and then saying good things about it, I just saw the first few episodes. It's damn good so far. It hits the right mix of complexity, depth, and camp for a good mid-budget science fiction show. I'm really looking forward to the rest.
Any other fans?

The name sounds familiar, but all I can remember was Lexx supposedly being marketed for softcore sex appeal, like something to the degree of Jeri Ryan on Star Trek: Voyager or even more so. The series itself I don't remember, so it must not have impacted with me.

I have tapes of MST with commercials of it. All I remember is that they constantly advertised it with erotic sequences.
Never watched it though. Looked like garbage.

It has its fair bit of gratuitous sex scenes. One of the main characters is a "love slave," after all.
But it's hardly garbage. In fact, so far it's damn-well written. It suffers from some obvious budget problems in the production and a few weird acting choices. But the story itself is really well done.

It looks like the link you left on the other page has a mix of eps from various seasons, it probably goes without saying (so why am I saying it?) that it works better watching it in order if you can. Did you see "I Worship His Shadow" with Barry Bostwick? It's a movie but considered the first, first season episode. Amazon has all the Season 1 Movies and they are well worth buying if you can't find them anywhere. Eating Pattern was my fav of the 4 films, with Rutger Hower. The show was well written, funny and imaginative but not a lot of people gave it a chance it seems. (Plus it wasn't your standard run of the mill sci-fi show, so maybe it had a difficult time finding it's audience)

I thought the exact same thing as Torgo -- it looked like garbage -- but I never watched a minute of it. I judged it solely from the commercials, and I absolutely despised them. If the show was even mediocre then I hope whoever made those repulsive commercials was fired. Repeatedly.

Eh, they got me to watch. I thought, "this looks so weird and wrong" and it was, but it was also funny, clever and offbeat and has been stated above, well written.
I'm not that into sci-fi, so something that twists it all on it's side piques my interest.

Lexx was an English/German colaboration that revolved around two things: Sex and food.
Season 1, which isnt really a season, is the first four movies. 1.0 I Worship His Shadow 2.0 Supernova 3.0 Eating Pattern 4.0 Gigashadow
Season 2 mixes up some of the cast and follows the crew right after Gigashadow. Towards the end of the season, the entire Lexx universe is destroyed and they go over to our universe, which is less goofy and more....reigious
Season 3 was basically Lexx meets Hell and Heaven. The film moved away from space ships and craziness to a lunatic society with Nigel Bennett. I personally consider Season 3 to be the worst season
Season 4 Lexx on Earth was more crazy but retooled due to low ratings. Basically, everything from Lexx was thrown out and Earth was basically nutty.
I love Lexx, alot. It moves away from softporn in Season 2 and 3. I consider the first Xev sexier.
