I always like Tales from the Crypt more. It was funnier and more entertianing. And it had Penn and Jillete. I remember that show when I was two or three. I kind of liked it.

The 80's version was OK. Not the equal of the original but I watched it and thought it wasn't a waist of time. Several were really quite good. But the Serling show was really quite special. Even he didn't fully recognize it. At some point he sold off the rights to the network not realizing the potential of syndication. Maybe not a businessman but Rod Serling is something of a personal hero to me. TZ would be enough but he did a lot before that. He wanted television to be a place for originality and quality writing but he was always fighting the system. Yes, despite those who look at 50's TV with rose colored (B&W) glasses it wasn't all wholesomeness and goodness. I don't know, some fans say that they can bear to watch the newer Zone eps, but, as a rabid fan of the show, I can't stand them. They just don't hold the same sway as the old ones. Not just due to the lack of creeping Serling, but in color, with not as good a writing, it can't hold a candle to the old ones. The newer ones never appealed to me at all. Just my thoughts, Servo
