I figure I write (rarely though). I draw, and I like thinking of random stuff that would fit in a creative section so instead of wasting space with a bunch of small thread I'm making this one home.
1. First off, I'll introduce myself. I'm 20 years old, I was born when it all started, so I cannot claim to be a fan since the beginning. My uncle used to love the show though and though I knew nothing about it at the time I watched quite a few episodes when I was a kid. To give you an Idea of how new I am compared to some of you I prefer Mike as a host because the first episodes I saw he was already hosting, so to me he's the original in my experience with MST3K. The first episode I can actually remember watching on my own was by pure luck when I thought it stopped running, and was flipping channels on a Saturday morning and caught "Soul Taker" on Sci-Fi, and it stopped airing a few weeks later. Since though I've become a huge fan or everything MST3K and have managed (mostly through borrowing vhs my uncle recorded) to see everything from season 1 on (never seen the KTMA episodes). So that's my story, not very exciting in retrospect...
Anyway I'm going to post Things here like:
-Game Ideas -Drawings -Possibly a web comic (A mst3k fan web comic I hope to start) -MSTied literature- And I only recently found out about how people are actually riffing literature, which to me seems brilliant. (I'd like to do something like Stephen Colbert's I am America and So Can You where the comments are in the margins). -And any other ideas I come up with. So keep checking in.

Video Game Idea-
Plot- Being a MST3K game there is no doubt that the movies themselves would have to be involved, so sorry if other game ideas are similar but there are only so many things one can do with a group of space captives. So my idea would be that Forrester decides in order to increase the torture of the bad movies sends VR gear through the Umbilicus and forces the crew to actually go into the virtual movie, however an miscalculation of Forresters part makes it that there's no way to take them off until the movie is completed, which requires the involvement of Mike/Joel and the Bots. In order to make it through each experiment.
Genre-Adventure/Platformer/Puzzle-
Gameplay- Pretty much a puzzle and platforming style game but with some RPG elements like spare batteries for the bots which increase their life bar, and equip able Items to find in each movie universe. All three characters move on the level and can be cycled through to switch between Mike/Joel (chosen at the beginning), Servo, and Crow. Each one equips different items, modifications those items have affect speed, jump, health, and power. Lastly each character has a set of combos and and the same basic abilities at the beginning but they change drastically as the bots discover new costumes in different levels (each world has at least one, but some are hidden and few are story related or required to pass to the next level). These costumes in addition to gameplay enhancement change the characters voices/ comments to suite the character they're mocking, and vary the games humor accordingly, once a level is beat it can be revisited as well later, in different costumes which effect the jokes made by the SOL crew during cut scenes in which they usually watch the climax of the movie take place. before something goes wrong with the plot and the SOL crew has to step in to take care of the villain or conflict in the games equivalent of boss fights.
Crow's Costumes : A Mutant from Metaluna-Takes less damage, does more damage, moves slow.
Servo's Costumes: Terminator (Hobgoblins Episode)- Servo Is armed with guns making him the longest range attacker in the game, also being machine guns they fire rapidly and do a lot of damage but have no stopping power to affect enemies in any other way
Mike/Joel Costumes: -Puma Man- Jumps much further, allowing access to areas and items otherwise unreachable.-Cheesy Pouncing Attack. -Metalunan- Allows for psychic attacks, further range than normal attacks. -Sailor- Mikes trademark Sailor Suit, Just an alternative costume that increases the amount of comments made about mike from Bots -Torgo- Hobbles but moves faster. Particularly useful in Manos Level as it allows access to certain areas for rare Items
More Costumes To Come as I remember them.
Anyway the games style is set to be easy enough to beat, but challenging to get 100%. (Which would unlock some sort of secret content like cut scene viewer, Bonus Levels based on shorts, etc.)
Each character would also have to have their flaws in order to vary teh gameplay, Servo, being that he hovers cannot jump normally but if he catches the wind right he can access places the others cannot, Crow can jump the highest normally, and Joel/Mike being the only human can swim, or touch water without taking damage.
Levels Include: Manos The Hands of Fate (Puzzle Oriented) Alien From L.A. Escape 2000 The Horrors of Spider Island Bloodlust (Escape/stealth Level) Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders (Find the Monkey) Hobgoblins (Destroy all Goblins) Over Drawn at The Memory Bank The Mole People Deathstalker Village of the Giants The Magic Voyage of Sinbad Master Ninja

Quick Crow Doodle- Not very good. The problem I have though is that many of the photos of crow are slightly different as he changed throughout the seasons so I don't know which to go with. Also I tried simplifying it by leaving out some of the detail so that if I do a web-comic it'll be easier to redraw in multiple panels:

I like the Crow. Nice simple, loose lines there. Welcome to the board and good luck with future work.

Thanks.
Also I was thinking about trying to create a MST3k RPG with RPG Maker XP but am having trouble creating custom character sprites (I can draw normally but making something to small where every last pixel has to be precise or they look weird is proving very difficult.
I want to make Mike a fighter, Servo A Gunner (and have him dressed as his hobgoblin terminator form and I still haven't decided for crow but his style will probably depend on which costume I create him in. And as for levels have them riff through classic video game worlds (since creating maps for the actual mst3k movies would be ridiculous in such a limited program.
If anyone can help with sprites either by helping find a source, make them, or point me in the direction of a good sprite editor/creator I'd be thankful, if not I'll keep trying to make my own and keep everyone updated here.

Made a Servo Sprite from Scratch but I can't figure out how I'm gonna do Crow. Since Servo Hovers I didn't have to do any animating on his lower half, but since crow walks I can't really avoid it. I'm trying to figure out if I can use an event to change the sprites (aka changing his costume to the terminator one when he finds the costume. Know I can't change his attacks or anything like that but at least I can do this much. Comments and Critiques welcome.

Here's what's going on with my RPG, I've only found one tileset (map) that really fits any MST3K Movie and It's from ... well I don't remember the title but It's the Spider one where the female lead's father goes missing on her birthday and the spider is from the Mine. I'm working on it now and will hopefully have a demo within a few weeks (maybe). The graphics Is going to be the hardest part, since I've used a smaller colored, and cleaned version of the crow doodle as his battle sprite means I have:
-Servo's Map Sprite -Crow's Battle Sprite -1 movie Map
What I still Need: -A SOL Map (or at least a theater map, just to get the story going since it'd be weird to start the story already in a movie.) -Servo's Battle Sprite (really weird I find crow easier to draw than servo...) -Crow Map Sprite (definitely gonna be the hardest) -Mike's Battle and Map Sprites (Map will be easy, Battle might be harder) -I also plan on making some sprites for the movie monsters. I was actually thinking instead of having them really in the movie, have the plot of, it's an interactive movie by having the battle sprite just being their silhouettes in the theater. I haven't worked out the story perfectly yet though. I also thought maybe instead of the movies at all they're actually in the real world after their landing in the end and want revenge, so the game's objective isn't to finish the movie, it's to punish the directors (who will exist in their individual maps that are similar to their movie and guarded by their movie monsters). It's still up in the air, I can fit the story and dialogue in after since I know the characters well enough, now I'm focusing on the gameplay
Mechanics So far: Since RPG Maker ony makes RPGs (I know, crazy, right?) the game is limited to very old rpg turn based, level grinding style. I plan on making battle events come up with riff text from one of the party whenever certain monsters pop-up, I'm trying to see if there's a way to make the text randomly selected from a set of lines about them, just so it doesn't end up getting annoying seeing the same lines during random battles, and if not save the lines for the bosses only.
I'm also making the character specs now, Mike's Class is Average Joe, He can equip anything and is the all around average character, the only thing that really changes drastically as he levels is his health and strength. Servo's class is Robot/Gumball dispenser and Has High Dexterity and Agility (in other words High Dodging and Accuracy). Crow's Class is Robot, and has high magic, I plan on making this into a joke since the others wont know why he has magic, I also couldn't think of anything else to make him unique and where as I gave servo the ability to equip guns as a hobgoblin reference, and crow despite owning them is never really seen with anything weapon-like so he can't equip anything, but to make up for this he can equip all armor, and is strong against most monster types.
Skills: Assuming I go with the in the movie idea or director hunting as opposed to the interactive movie idea I have bgun making custom skills for the characters based on their series exploits so far I have:
Servo: Terminate- A Swift Kick in the Shins. Collect Underpants- A Steal Item Move.
Crow: Oily Rag Accident- Set Foes aflame... at the cost of a proud collection
Mike: None Yet
I'm watching the Host segment's new trying to get more ideas but I just started this whole project after I joined so I've made good progress considering.
How About a Little Vote Too? For anyone interested which would you prefer?
Scenario 1: Mike and the Bots Get trapped in movie worlds until the movies end, however their presence in the movie world distorts the plots so the crew has to set things straight. Due either to the Mad's experiments or the effects of going through a worm hole again (since that's been a plot point they themselves have used I figure it's at least as believable as it was in the show).
Scenario 2: Mike and The bots continue in the show and riff the movies, the rpg elements come in in that the skills are all riffs and they defeat enemies by insulting them, in this case the sprite on the map would be the movie character and the SOL crew would just show up in the battles to "Riff Battle" Cheesy Monsters and villains. The plot would be that if the crew loses than they would have succumb to the Mad's experiments and lose their minds. In this way though the game may have to be split since I'm not sure if the event will let me switch sprites on the map throughout the rpg, meaning there would only be able to be one movie protagonist. If I can I want to set it up so that the character sprite alone changes keeping items and level in tact, I may have this tie in with a new VR experiment from the mads so that at certain points the character can enter the movies shortly, or their skills/attacks can reach their enemies other than just attacking with random insults.
Scenario 3: Director Hunting. Mike and the bots decide to punish the directors/producers of some of the old movies they were forced to watch, the directors/producers however all live in crazy mansions themed after their movies and full of their movie monsters.
I like the ideas of all of them but for those who don't like rpg's then the 2nd would be best, for those who want to relive the show the first one would be best as it keeps the movies plots, and for those who love mst3k but want something original the third would be best.
All are plausible and I think with some tweaking any of them can be done, the hardest part is getting the sprites and graphics to fit to them, I draw but I'm not good enough to satisfy my own ridiculous standards and It'll take forever to draw enough alone to make a full game, Though I think for some of the cheesier monsters I may actually use regular images and cut them out sort of intentionally bad to make them look like paper cutouts to add to the feeling of being a part of a terrible movie.
Now, I need some sleep (I'm not from somewhere far away... if American's were wondering about foreigners enjoying the show to... I just have terrible sleeping habits...it's 9:15AM...
