***WARNING! MAJOR POTENTIAL SPOILER!!!!***
Okay, I'm not really into evil child movies, but they seem to come around every ten years or so. Most of them follow the conventions of the genre pretty strictly, and it's about the only time a film is allowed to kill a child. I don't usually watch them but they don't bother me much.
However, what I heard about this movie's twist is so horrible/stupid I must have it confirmed. Here we go:
The young girl, Esther, is not really a girl at all, BUT A MIDGET FORMER PROSTITUTE posing as a preadolescent in order to get the family's house and money!
If this is true, I don't know whether to be grossed out, horrified, enraged, or all three! Midgets and people with dwarfism are short and may have various medical problems, but they are NOT children and DO NOT look like children. Even for a horror/exploitation film this is really offensive--Ed Wood would have churned this out, read it over in an alcoholic haze, and said "nah, too weird." And keep in mind this isn't some European Germanic Art Film from the twenties, or even Night of the Creeps--it's a mainstream summer "popcorn" flick!
Has anyone actually seen this? Is this true? Because if it is... GROSS.

That would be the greatest thing ever!
I read this because I saw the trailer and decided that I'd never be seeing this. Now I might just have to go in the hope that this is true. I just want to hear the audience's reaction to it!

Well, I've read something along the lines of that, although I couldn't swear to all the details. Sounds like it would be in such horrible taste it might be hilarious.

Ha! I called it!
After seeing the trailers, it came to me.
Bugs Bunny cartoons teach you alot. "Oh Finster. Oh Finster, baby."

Movies making fun or demonizing short people? I'm totally shocked. I watch Italian mobster flicks, Asian chop-socky stuff and movies with black people shuckin'n'jivin', for example, so I can't get on some "stereotypes are bad" moral high ground (no pun intended) here, granted. But good Lord, that is a dumb "twist".

I have added this movie to my "Will Not See If You Paid Me" list.

For your viewing enjoyment, I've synthesized the essence of this movie into one picture: That kind of glosses over some of the nuances, though. Here's the more expressive version:

Don't let Eric The Midget (excuse me, Eric The Actor) hear you use the M-word...he'll punch you right in the shin!
Now I have to see this movie. Is Bridget the Midget in it? She's hot. Tiny, but hot.
