Well, we kissed the Bears' season goodbye today.
It was fun while it lasted.

I find it funny that earlier this year, I posted this in the Jokes thread in Coleman Francis mountain. Now, it seems this year the New Orleans Saints are well on their way and have a very good shot of making it to the SuperBowl this year. Now here is where things get even funnier. One year ago today we woke up to this site in South Louisiana... Four inches plus of snow on the ground in South Louisiana for the first time in 20 years. Now here is a picture that was taken from my hometown of Ville Platte, LA just this past Saturday... Almost a year after our first snow in 20 years, we received another 6+ inches of snow. So, I'm wondering if these events are all tied together. Maybe it was all a coincidence. Or maybe it is a big conspiracy between Sean Peyton, Drew Brees, and Satan. Probably a coincidence. lol. Just thought I would share, I got a smile out of it.

So much for global warming. Actually I've been really impressed with the Saints...they seem to have all the pieces for a big playoff run. They should have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, so no real need for them to worry about snow.

I can't imagine anyone will beat them in that stadium with those fans in the playoffs.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game to find out whether or not the Broncos have a chance in the playoffs. If so, they'll have to win on the road against teams like Indianapolis. So tomorrow's game will be a good test. But we NEVER win in Indy, so I'm not optimistic. Then again, we NEVER win at Arrowhead either, until last week's 44 point blowout changed that. Then again, the Chiefs aren't the Colts.

Even if the Browns finish 2-14, that one win over the Steelers will make the pain a little easier to deal with...
The Saints are very impressive. The offense doesn't seem to know what fear is.

Took him long enough to resign. They should be a better team next year, although right now Jim Zorn has them playing pretty good.

Funny - I've been supporting my brother and his Vikings this year. After I went over to watch the Pack/Vike game, he was a good sport and said he was sorry after the loss... but I was like, "Eh, the Pack aint going to the playoffs anyway". And then they lost to the Bucs and I though, "Eh, it's finished..". then a month later, whole different story.
This blase, defeatist attitude seems to be working so I'll just say, "Eh, the Packers can't beat the Saints in the playoffs anyway".
and leave it at that.

They probably won't be able to beat the Saints but it's been a really fun year...especially after last year's 6-10 disappointment. They fired the whole defensive staff and put in the 3-4 defense(I won't bore you with details, Mom says that's the way to really turn people off)If you want an explanation, I can explain in a PM about the 3-4. anyway, Packers were great in the pre-season, and now are turning it on. Should be able to get a wild card berth, but no Super Bowl this year.

So much for the Saints undefeated season. I hated to see the Cowboys win. Eagles need to beat the 49ers to maintain their Division lead.

I am still behind the Saints, a 13-1 season is still pretty damn phenomenal for the black and gold. Last night's game will separate the real fans from those who are just on the undefeated bandwagon. I think last year proved you don't need an undefeated season to bring home a Super Bowl tittle.

Well the Vikings look like crap, the Saints are human... it's wide open in the NFC. Whoever goes in the AFC will be the champions.

I knew Favre was going to falter once again. This has been a pattern that goes back to the packers, he starts out great in the first half of the season, then he slows down. His body just can't take it anymore and this whole "he is going to save the Vikings and get his Super Bowl win and retire". His days are numbered.
On another topic, My packers are looking great, Aaron Rodgers plays with poise and calmness. He is a real laid back guy with accuracy that rivals Favre's. I am also in love with Clay Mathews, he is going to be a star and an asset to the packers defense for many years.
The other thing that excites me about green bay is that alot of these young guys (Rodgers, Mathews, Jennings and Grant) have contracts lasting into 2013 and more. This means that the team now will be around longer and develop into another Super Bowl contender.
The Saints are still my favorite for a Super Bowl win, they play like a Madden video game and Brees is by far one of the best QBs in the league.
