I'm just generally curious about the demographics. I'd like to hear your reasons too, of course. I personally loved the Live Show, and I certainly plan on seeing it again. This time I'm taking my parents with me (my dad actually watched it in another town, as it turns out, and he's also willing to go again. My mom's never been a huge MST fan, but she likes the odd episode, and wants to see this Rifftrax performance.) I can certainly understand any number of reasons for not going, even if you liked the show or weren't able to see it the first time. Bad timing and finances come to mind, but there might be any number of other reasons too.

Didn't see the first, can't see the second. Not by choice.

I loved the show, but I'm unable to get to the encore. I'd go if I could, though.

Saw it live, loved it, but just can't swing the second one due to schedule problems. Even if I could, I'm not really one to do this kind of thing more than once. I think I've only seen one movie in the theater multiple times in my life.
The encore idea is good, though, both for those who missed it the first time and those who just want to see it again in a crowd.

Was out of town for the first one, but I'm going to the encore!

Wasn't able to make the live show, but found out today I can make the encore. Woot!

I loved the show, but I'm unable to get to the encore. I'd go if I could, though. Ditto here. It being on Thursday with me having no more days off to spare, PLUS the fact that the nearest theater showing this is 2 1/2 hours away....pains me to say it, but sadly no.

I'm with Raja. and actually I was with Raja. Fun but over 3 hours each way for me. More theaters please.

I have a question: only 10 people have answered this poll; only two of which are going to the encore. On the poll of who was going on Aug 20, the cumulative total on this site was less than 50.
Hundreds showed up at theaters; who are the Rifftrax fans and why aren't more at this site?

Hundreds showed up at theaters; who are the Rifftrax fans and why aren't more at this site? Reason 1 - Not everyone who is a fan of Rifftrax, MST3K, and Cinematic Titanic hang out in internet forums. As cool as this place is, I don't think we're really a representative sample of all the entire fan base. Only the most hardcore fans feel the need to talk to other people on the internet about a show that's been dead for ten years! Reason 2 - Not everyone who's here participates in every poll, even if it does apply to them. Reason 3 - The Rifftrax website also has a forum, and while I haven't been over there in a while, I suspect there was probably more buzz about it over there in general. That's not to say we don't love Rifftrax over here of course! ;D So yeah. I went the first time. I loved it. But I don't feel compelled to go again. I own the Plan 9 riff on DVD, I saw them riff this live at the Balboa Theater in San Diego two years ago, and I have my digital copy of the Flying Stewardesses short. Plan 9, as hilarious as it is, is a bit played out for me now. So to me it doesn't seem necessary to go again. Besides, this way I can save my pennies if and when they do this again with another film!

Went to the first show. Loved it. Going to the second. It's a relatively cheap night out and eventhough I could watch it at home on DVD it's just more fun to be with a crowd.

Ditto on the above post on every point. The first time around I saw it with my 'I like MST' friend. This time I'm seeing it with my 'I hate MST' friend. I'm very very very surprised he wanted to go. He adores old movies, even crappy ones, and can't deal with people making fun of them. I believe the main reason he's coming is because he wants to see Plan 9 on the big screen. I'm rather curious to see his reaction to it. I'm a little apprehensive about the whole thing, but it adds a degree of suspense to the evening.

Well, I almost wound up having to go to work instead, but I dodged that bullet.
I was wondering the whole time leading up to it if it was *really* worth the ticket price to see it again. After all, money's tight these days.
The first five minutes of Flying Stewardess convinced me, however, that seeing it twice was worth my time. Glad I went again. :-) I do hope that they eventually release this event onto DVD.
