Anyone here ever try this? I hate the idea of downloadable books eventually taking the place of real books, but it's hard to argue the benefits. I just read a little of Amazon's Kindle description and saw that the $249 version can hold up to 1,500 books, downloads a book in less than 60 seconds, has a spot to add your own annotations (wow), adjustable font, and has a built in dictionary--you just move the cursor to the word and the definition appears at the bottom of the screen (double-wow).
Anyone have an opinion on (or experience with) the subject?

On the one hand, the ability to have that many books on hand in one sounds AWESOME.
On the other hand, I can't stand reading things on screens for too long - browsing the internet is one thing, but when it comes to reading books, I'm a big fan of paper.
I'll admit that I have no hands-on experience with these Kindle things, so maybe I shouldn't judge them yet.

it sounds awesome, but i still have a hard time completely trusting computers. if updating new versions came included, i'd be willing to give it a shot. that would be hard to turn down.
