I saved a puppy from a haunted mansion whose bathrooms I kept entering would shrink and rotate. Oh, and then I gave the puppy to the Doctor and Martha (must stop watching DW before bed!) and jumped into the swimming pool filter to reach Toledo. Why Toledo? Hell if I know. But I got out at Akron instead, climbed out of the filter, and wandered off looking for a key for my MP3 player. Then I was suddenly dirtbiking.
Maybe I should stop smoking crack before bed too.

i dreamed i was back to waitressing last night. the section next to me was being served by a friend of mine that i have lost touch with after a bit of a falling out. i was in the weeds, completely covered up and stressed out. she was either not as busy or a better server than me. i just remember the animosity i felt toward her because she seemed to be enjoying my stress.
then we were in a chinese restaurant - there to eat, not serve. i was with this same friend of mine, who had brought along a number of people she worked with. for some reason, there was this weird kind of protocol everyone was supposed to follow at this restaurant - it had nothing to do with the restaurant - it was this group of people. like, only people who wanted salad with their meals could go up first, but if you didn't like tomatoes, you had to wait with the others. something weird like that. anyway, i publicly announced that it was a stupid system, took my plate and went up to get whatever the hell i wanted while everyone glared at me. my friend was embarrassed and even more pissed off at me.
but i got mine!

you have NEVER remembered a dream - your whole life? that seems impossible to me. i would really miss my nutty dreams if i were to stop remembering them.
last night i had a lot of different ones, but the one i remember the most was me sitting in my living room watching tv. i knew it was very late - like two or three o'clock in the morning. i heard a knock at the door, which freaked me out. i called out "who is it?" and it was a couple from my church. except they were mismatched - it was a wife from one couple and a husband from another couple i know. but it seemed right that they were together. i could see it had snowed outside and they brought me a christmas tree. i already had my tree up, so i had two fully decorated, lit trees in my small living room. none of it made any sense and seemed kind of boring now that i go back and read it. sorry.

You sure that was a dream? It sounds like an episode of Full House. I'm still in dream fragments. What keeps happening is as I'm waking up, some innocuous song will start playing in my head on repeat mode. Within seconds, the dreams gone and I'm left with the dang song. If it's one I like, I don't mind, but I seem to wake up with songs that are not the best choices to wake up with. Things like "Never going to give you up, never going to let you down.." and "Sometimes when we touch, the honesty's too much..." Why can't I wake up with a Beatles song? Now watch, I'll wake up tomorrow with "Do you want to know a secret?" Could I have another Beatles song, please?

Guess what? I had a song in my head this morning, but I remembered part of my dream. It was the last day of elementary school and the teacher was showing a movie. While sitting in the back of the class; funny, I usually sat in the front; some girl came up to me and admitted having a crush on me. So we just hung out in the back, school ended and we jumped in the back of a truck while "cars," which were actually people on all fours going really fast, passed by. We pulled into the "car' stream and my dream ended. Cue the music....This time it was The Rolling Stones "Wild Horses." Whew!

My dream this morning: It happened at a two-story house I lived in during the early 90's. I was trying to find a ride somewhere and there were two cars at home, but nobody wanted to take me. I then started walking through the house to leave and my sister-in-law was with me. I was about to open a sliding door on the second floor when I said "Hey, I used to live here." I opened the door and sat down on the top of the stairs, where my sister-in-law joined me. She started making a plate of food for me that she had taken from the house. Then, we started walking down the stairs and she took off down the hill that was next to the house. I started walking down these steep trails that led down the hill, but couldn't catch up with her. I then climbed back up the hill to the house and ran into this person just laying down on a picnic table. The dream then switched to me sitting in a chair in an impromptu class. The person sitting next to me asked me if someone sitting across from us could be considered chocolate, and I told him I couldn't care less because I don't judge people in that manner. The teacher then became mad at me and asked this strange question while showing me a film, which I shut my eyes on. I left the class and house and walked back down the hill, but the ocean seemed to be there now. I thought to myself that I had seen this before, then walked back up the hill. All of a sudden, I'm in this long hallway. In front of me in the hallway, there's a man and woman blowing up balloons that were being popped by seals. Seeing the woman, I thought to myself "Uh oh, I better do something before the seals get confused and start to go after her." I get there right at the point the balloons are all popped with one of the seals attacking the woman. I pull her away by the hand and we start running to find a place to hide. We come to a public bathroom, and I find that I'm barefooted, so I'm avoiding the water spots. We hide in a corner near a toilet, and we hear the seals all go by. She turns to me with a smile, thanks me, then gives me a peck on the cheek. That's where I wake up with three things running through my head. Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" and Mac Davis' "Hooked On a Feeling," along with the thought "When did my dreams become G rated?" I kid not.

So, last week I dreamed Hannibal Lector was chasing me down a hospital hallway, and he was seriously hungry. I've never seen the Silence of the Lambs other than a small clip, so I'm not sure where that came from.
Then, the other day, my dream was like stick-figure animation, and I had like a narrator telling the "story". There was this stick figure Schawns truck, and all these stick people who were monks (they came out of a church and were chanting) were going to the truck, on a mission. The narrator didn't fully help me understand what was going on, or if he did, I don't remember. It was just weird...

It seems like half my dreams are still about me wandering or stuck in some large area, but I'm not remembering them, so I searched for paintings about dreams till I found this one. For most of the dream I'm usually the misshapen guy on the left who looks stuck, but I think I always come out of it, and many of them end up feeling like good dreams. Eventually.

i've lost most of what i dreamed last night, but it was pretty weird. i saw probably half a dozen or more faces of girls i went to school with when i was in elementary and middle school. all as adults. i was walking through somewhere crowded and cramped - it felt like a bus, but people were seated at tables, all squished in together. one after another, i saw these girls i went to school with that i haven't thought about in YEARS - i even knew their names. even ones that i wasn't really friends with, i knew them as soon as i saw them.

Dreams are weird, ain't they?
Do you ever have dreams that are both outside and inside at the same time? Dreams where spatial dimensions just don't jibe? I once had a dream that I had a whole amusement park in my back yard - and it FIT! (The log flume went into the pool, the "sky ride" was the clothes line - it was like sizes and distances were both normal and exaggerated at once).
I, too, have had dreams where I'm just an observer, or not in it at all, as if I were watching a movie. I also have dreams where I'm in two places at once - where I have my normal waking POV, but also am outside myself like I were watching. I also have dreams where I take on everyone's role - everyone in the dream is me, but not me.
I had a dream about five years ago - every time I started to dream a "regular" dream, it would stop abruptly and get interrupted by my getting crashed into in my car. I would wake up suddenly, with a gasp, and the impact felt very real. This happened about three or four times in a row, until I just got up. It had happened all at the same place - at the post office, and someone would crash into the back of me.
The nervous feeling stuck with me all day. It was raining that day, so I was driving very cautiously, thinking - what if it really happens? What if it was a warning? I'd never felt that before.
Nothing happened that day. I forgot all about it, relieved.
The next day - you guessed it. I had to go to the post office for work, the dream wasn't even in my head any more and- BAM! Some idiot kid smashed into the back of me while I was turning in. I was so nervous - and PISSED! - that the dream didn't even occur to me at that point. After all the excitement, and after I got home I thought - holy CRAP! I DREAMED THIS! The only difference had been that in my dream I had been a little further into the parking lot and had actually been at the drive up mail box, mailing a letter. In real life, the kid had smashed into me as I had been turning in. There had been cars in the way going in and out of spaces, so I had to sit there a moment at the entrance until the way was clear, and the kid hit me like I wasn't even THERE!
The cost of repairs to my old car - that was PAID FOR, DAMMIT! - was more than the car was worth, so I ended up getting a new car. The ONLY good thing about this incident, as now I drive a car I absolutely love - my PT Cruiser. (Of course, now my insurance and car tax are higher as it's a newer car, and I'm still making payments - I should have SUED the SOB!)
Still, pretty weird that I would dream something that would actually come to pass. FREEEE-KEEE!
(Why can't I dream of lotto numbers, dammit!)

Thought I'd break this up into two posts as that other one was getting long. I also have had an MST3K dream. It was some time ago. I had been watching the show a lot, a lot of episodes in a row, and I must've watched something else to do with puppets as puppets had been stuck in my brain in the dream. (Maybe also Joel's TV Wheel - 'cause that had puppets, too). Joel was doing a special on TV about puppets, the history of puppets and different famous puppets, like Punch and Judy, and especially the Muppets, because in the dream, I think, it was some anniversary of theirs or something, like they had been on the air for "x" many years, or something. And also, puppet making, and such. Anyway - Joel was on with the 'bots, and all the Muppets were on as well. Statler and Waldorf were on up in their balcony box, making jokes, heckling them, and laughing at their own jokes in their way. (I don't remember any of the jokes). This was a live show and there was an audience. There was some banter back and forth between Joel and the 'bots, and Servo said something like, "But I don't know what all this has to do with US." Crow: "Yeah. We're not puppets." Servo: "No, we're ROBOTS." (The crowd gives a knowing giggle, Joel looks guilty and goes, "Um...guys..."). Crow: "Yeah, I mean, if we were puppets, there'd be guys underneath us with their hands up our.." (He looks down, as does Servo). Servo: "Good, GOD." Joel: "Uh, yeah, I was gonna tell you guys..." Crow: "Well, THIS is a fine how do you do!" There's more talk that I can't recall, and Gypsy comes out and they're talking and the subject comes up, and she's nonplussed, but Crow says, "Well, whatever you do, just don't look down." But she does and says, "Uh...did anyone see the 'Crying Game'?" They do more stuff and Joel does stuff with The Muppets as well. At one point he's standing between Gypsy and Miss Piggy and says, "Wow. This has been a dream of mine." Miss Piggy (swiping her hair): "Joel, that's SICK." Joel looks embarrassed and explains himself more clearly and says, "Uh, I MEAN...meeting The Muppets." And she says something like, "But of course." And how of course it's an honor meeting "moi" and all that kind of stuff. After they talk a bit, she gets flustered with Gypsy about something and goes to do her karate pork chop bit. Joel warns her, "Oh, I wouldn't..." MP: "HIYA!" And she hurts her arm on Gypsy (Gypsy being very solid, I guess - which kind of negates the whole "they're puppets, not robots" thing - heh). I don't remember the rest. It was a good little "show" to watch in my sleep. I woke up thinking, "Hey, I enjoyed that." ;D

Oh, yeah - does anyone else get "flashes" of images in their heads for a split second of people you've never met, or places you've never been? Just faces of people you've never seen in your LIFE, or images of woods, or waterfalls, or even streets? I do. (This is when I'm AWAKE, mind you). The HELL?
