The thread title fooled me into thinking this was a "Rifftrax Presents" trax, but I'm happy to see the big three doing it. I think I am, anyway. The commercials for Avatar looked vomit-worthy, hopefully the riffing fixes that.

Yeah, I fixed it. After I posted it I was like "uh that isn't right" - But for some reason the title stuck out in my mind anyways, haha!

This riff is going to be a "game-changer."

No surprise here. Why wouldn't the Rifftrax Triad jump on the biggest money maker of all time? Makes every bit of sense from an economic standpoint. Besides, Avatar is preachy and self-important so its a perfect target for Bill, Kevin and Mike. I hope ther are a lot of "Dances wiith Wolves" joke tie ins. I'm picking this one up!

I still haven't seen Avatar but am really looking forward to this riff. I hope it sells like hotcakes for them.

Haven't seen Avatar yet, either, but I'll bet it's a good riff. Will probably wait until I've seen it without the riff before I plunge in.
My only real question is whether they can keep the riffing sharp after more than two and a half hours. That's a pretty long flick for a Rifftrax, and I've tended to like the ones that run a little shorter.

Mike, Kevin, and Bill can make any film funny, but most of my favorite rifftrax are all in the 2 hour or less category. Nothing against the trio, but you're way more likely to get riffing lulls in a super long film. I've found it helps a little to break up the really long trax into two nights.

Will the riffing be in 3-D?

Watched it last night. One of the best Rifftrax ever (but don't quote me on that because the movie is 2:40 long which means I need to watch it again to really review it properly). It sounds like they took their time writing it as the riffing covers many topics and styles. A number of jokes had me laughing out loud. Seeing the movie again highlighted how strong the first half-hour is, and how hopeful I was that this would indeed be a masterpiece. But the longer Jake stays a Na'vi, the sillier it gets. Seeing as how Cameron released the DVD with no extras, this will have to suffice as the commentary track until the deluxe version comes out. And we get to hear Disembaudio sing the awful song at the end. Recommended for lovers of science fiction films and haters of Hollywood excess.

While I know many folks did, I never had a problem wrapping my brain around the mystical, nature etc stuff. I think because It reminded me of Alan Moore's Swamp Thing. Maybe my brain was pre-conditioned to accept it without question?
I haven't heard the trax yet because I can't find a copy of the movie for rent anywhere. And I'm not buying the bare bone release. But from what I've read from others, it sounds like a goodie. Looking forward to it, but yeah, this will a 2 nighter for me as well.
