Hey all, maybe you guys can help me out. I use a Panasonic DMRE50 to record my MST3Ks. (A standalone deck, like a VCR) I recently bought a DVD burner for my PC so I can make fast, exact dubs of my existing MST3K DVD-Rs. Ive tried 3 different burners, and seem to be having the same problems. I use Ritek 1x DVD-Rs that I buy from www.shop4tech.com. In over 200 burns, I have had 0 coasters with the DMRE50. But with th PC based burner, I have had several. I think ive had 2 successes and 8 fails. The software is Roxio. I put the original DVD-R with episode already on it into drive #1, a staight DVD ROM. The blank goes into drive #2 A DVD burner that supports all formats. It seems to read the original just fine, but when it begins to record onto the blank, it fails, most of the time, almost immediatley. The disc is now useless! Ive also tried burning on the same drive, using the burner to both read and burn, but I get the same result. Sometimes I get the error code "logical block address out of range" Ive also tried switching between 1x and 2x burn speeds. The first drive I tried was a Pacific Digital, the 2nd is a TDK. I can still bring it back and try a HP or Sony. Any ideas?

Are you ropping the DVD to your hard drive first or burning on the fly? I rip first with DVD Decrypter and then burn. Here's a good site for info. www.dvdrhelp.com/

thanks phantom! I figured it out. I was using NERO and ROXIO, and I neither of them worked. Over a dvdrhelp, they use dvd decrypter. I downloaded that, and last night I made 3 dvds with no problems. Looks like Im good to go.

Glad to hear it. I love Decrypter. Smartripper is good also. And their free! I've come to dislike Roxio.
