Good luck, guys. I'm doing it, too.
I've only written one book, and I started it with NaNoWriMo. (Now I'm stuck in that tiring "editing" process. Two drafts down, who knows how many to go...)

good luck guys. I've written novels pretty fast before, but I don't have any burning ideas so won't do it...but let us know how it went!

My novel shall be dubbed: "Forehead". It will be typed entirely by my forehead on one of those old cast iron Underwood manual typewriters.

I'm torn between three different ideas. An urban fantasy, a more traditional fantasy (sort of), and a space opera.
I'm...I'm suddenly realizing why I'm single at the moment. *Weeps*
-EDIT-
I'm having trouble figuring out how to add Writing Buddies. Feels like this always happens to me. Um, my Author name is Afgncaap5.
Don't confuse me with any other Afgncaaps, okay?

And we're off!
1 hour and twenty-three minutes into NaNoWriMo in my time zone, and I haven't hit 50,000 words yet. Must work harder!

In my first night, I got to not-quite 500 words before realizing that I was practically sleeping in the computer chair. I had to sleep before hitting my daily goal (I'm shooting for 2000, that should get me done with time to spare.)
I've since resumed work, and now I've actually *reached* 500 words. Time to pass it.

Am I the only one who's found it pretty much impossible to access the NaNoWriMo site today?

Am I the only one who's found it pretty much impossible to access the NaNoWriMo site today? No, everyone's having trouble. They've got record-setting numbers of people who want to update their wordcount goals. Their twitter account is giving status updates of expected downtimes and such (and they have a secondary account that organizes "Word Sprints" where you just write like crazy to see how many words you can get in a short time.) -UPDATE- The website is still slow, but it's better today, and only fails to connect one out of every three or four tries (believe it or not, yes, that's an improvement.) Word count: I've broken the 2100 word barrier, which means I'm on par with where I wanted to be yesterday. Just gotta write another 2000 words today and I'll be good.

Well, I've just discovered the "NaNoWriMo Stats" page and seen the rather distressing news that at the rate I'm writing I shouldn't expect to finish until midway through January.
The upside is that'd still be only a fifth or so of the time that it took me to finish my first NaNoWriMo book, so I guess we can call this an improvement. :-)
