Okay, admit it: there are some movies that you enjoy and there's just no justification for it. Movies without much in the way of artistic merit or reasonable plot or whatever, but you can still appreciate the talent that brought it to you.
Or, to put it another way, what movie would you say is a really good movie that might popularly be considered a bad movie?
For instance, I'm a huge UHF fan. I personally think that it was well-written, that it delivered what it promised, and that it's a nice way to spend a Saturday Night when there's nothing good on TV. The acting leaves a bit to be desired in some places, yeah, and some of the props and sets in the more bizarre scenes are obviously cheap. But still, I love this film, it cracks me up every time. I don't care that it didn't do well in the box office, I WATCH IT WITH PRIDE!
Or, similarly, I'm a fan of Joe Vs. The Volcano. The critics hated this movie, but when I watched it I saw a movie that was rich with symbolism that broke through the bonds of the storyline (which was pretty funny on its own, anyway). There's a lot of, "My, that's convenient" stuff to push the plot along, but that just added to my feelings that Joe wasn't just fighting the volcano or his job or his financial situation, Joe was fighting some dark force of nature that was manifesting itself as a really, really lousy week.
So yeah. Pick a movie, justify it as bad, then defend it as good.
And no "I like Plan 9 From Outer Space" posts where you say that you like a movie because it's so obviously bad. You need to post that you like a movie in spite of how bad it might be.
