I liked it that one time he called his son a dummy.
All kidding aside, I only recently started watching Sanford & Son, and was surprised at what a funny show it was. I forget the plot of the episode, but there was a scene at the end of one where a typewriter exploded as Fred was trying to use it, and I had a good, hard laugh. There was also a good one I enjoyed where Fred got a chance to meet "Redd Foxx", and hilarity ensued.
And the theme song is pretty boss.

That episode was titled Fred Meets Redd. "Tomorrow at what"? "It's not important". "Tomorrow at WHO"?

In the episode Lamont Goes African, Fred and Bubba are trying to watch a movie on TV, but the reception isn't the best. Fred says that he's asked Lamont to get cable TV but he wouldn't. Bubba says "Well, why won't he get it for you"?, to which Fred responds with, "'Cause he's a cheap son of a... hello, Lamont"!

Lamont and Fred parted ways and the new "big dummy" Fred had working for him bought a stuffed bear. Classic!
Also some of Fred's fights with Aunt Esther were hilarious.

I loved that one time when Fred had a heart attack because Rodney's white.

Sorry...is this a generational thing? I grew up with Sanford & Son, and it was one of the WORST shows every produced, in it's day! I know young guys at work who LOVE that show, and laugh like mental patients over some of the 'jokes'. Somebody help me out/clue me in. WTF?

I haven't sat down and watched a Sanford & Son episode in years. But one scene has always stuck in my head. I think Aunt Esther's husband was Woody. I know that it wasn't the Grady character. He must have had a reputation of liking to take a drink or two every now and then. Because when Uncle Woody & Aunt Esther walked into Fred's front door. Fred quips something like "That's all I need a wine-o and a rhino" LOL !
