I was just watching Freddy vs Jason with the commentary on. There's a scene where two stoners are taking the piss out of Jason and Jason very calmly snaps one of the guys necks, turning it 180 degrees.
So on the commentary, the guy who plays Jason says at that moment
"Hey, look over there.."
I nearly fell out of my chair, it was priceless.
Anyone else find any mstie type riffing in audio commentaries?

Check out the Evil Dead II commentary. They even do an MST3K: the Movie reference during the end credits when Sam Raimi says "The Winner and Still Photographer."
Plus Bruce Campbell is freakin' hillarious throughout the whole thing.

Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell would be great writers for MST3K. I agree with Torgo, Evil Dead II has the best commentary ever on any DVD movie. I love listening to it. It's just so funny. "Never walk backwards in a horror movie, folks." Army of Darkness had a good one, although not as hillarious as in II. I've been hearing good things on Bruce's for the original Evil Dead. I'm gonna have to check that out soon. Sam Raimi should have brought Bruce in to spice up the Spider-Man audio comentary. That comentary just seemed so lost.

Which one? The director/actor commentary, or the technical commentary? I've only heard the director one so far.
I enjoyed it, but I think it could've been better.

The movie itself seemed lost. As much as I respect Sam Raimi, I will never forgve him for Spider Man. To each his own. I loved Spider-Man and am looking very forward to the sequel very much.

Hey, if you guys dig Bruce Campbell, maybe you would like "Bubba Ho-Tep". He plays Elvis Presley as a rest home resident who teams up with a black JFK impersonator to battle an evil mummy. It's really funny and also poignant. Campbell gives the best Elvis impersonation in a movie ever. It might be the only good Elvis movie, period. Roger Ebert: "Witty, truthful, and wickedly observant!" I think the humor of the movie would jibe with that of an MST3K fan.
I knew nothing about Bruce Campbell until seeing it a couple weeks ago. I've gathered from reading on this message board that he was in a series of "Evil Dead" movies directed by Sam Raimi. Now I get a joke at the beginning of "Bubba Ho-Tep". Before the movie starts, Bruce Campbell gives an introduction of it, thanking the audience for coming to see it. He says something about working very hard for the movie to be distributed worldwide, and thanks to this dedication, the movie has been released to about 10 theaters in the country. Hehe. Anyway, at the beginning of the intro, he answers his phone and says, "Sam Raimi? Hey, I'm sorry but I have to put you on hold. I'm talking to ...The People." Then at the end he picks up the phone and says "Evil Dead IV? I'll do it!!" Now I get that joke.
Sorry that rambled so much. I guess my point is, Bruce Campbell is really cool and funny, and "Bubba Ho-Tep" is a really good movie. I'll get back into my cell now.

But I have to wait until DVD. It didn't play at any theater near where I live.

I watched crouching tiger hidden dragon with commentary. It was with Ang Lee and one of the producers. The producer riffed Ang pretty hard when it went into the flash back sequence. I was expecting to hear a punch sound over the speakers.

Ditto about wanting to (but being unable to) see Bubba Ho-Tep.
Which Evil Dead II DVD edition is the good one? My understanding is that for each of those movies, there are like eight separate DVD editions, each with very different features and packaging.

It's Army of Darkness and the original that have multipal DVDs. My choices would be:

Ah yes, the Boomstick Edition is the one I favor too.
Thanks for the ED2 tip.

There's some minor riffing on the Producer/Screenwriter track on the Speed special edition set, mostly about the plot implausibilities and cliches the writer had to use.
