msn.comThis news saddens me greatly. He was a superb drummer-- which I think sometimes got lost in Devo's studio recordings. I saw them live and the drums immediately jumped out at me. They had such a power -- they knocked me on my tail and created an energy that was lost a bit on the LPs (especially with songs from the bands icy second album... it was a whole different animal done live).

Ah, that sucks. I loved Q&A and their other early stuff. Never saw them live, but I have a stack of their bootleg tapes I traded for a few copies of MST3K episodes back in the day - which are freaking awesome, by the way. One of the cool things a guy could pick up back in the days of MST tape trading.
Think I'm gonna have to throw on some Uncontrollable Urge tonight.
Rest well, sir.
