During the Emmy's, an ad came on for Samsung's Smart TV. The ad features two guys who have been bingeing on TV for days, and those pesky women get home and give them a hard time. They started with watching X-Files, which lead to the TV suggesting LOST, which lead to Battlestar Galactica, and then the TV suggested MST3K the Movie. Unfortunately, the guys went for the second option and watched the original Star Trek series. While the movie itself isn't seen or mentioned, the movie logo is very prominent. Odd that the dates for MST3K the Movie are the same as Star Trek and that they seem to have watched nearly half the movie. Anyway, it's not a huge deal, though given how rare MST3K appearances are on TV, I thought it was a cool little appearance. I just saw that and was wondering if someone would bring it up here. Good to see the show still being represented in the world.

I know you super-fans are going to have my head on a pike for saying this, but I hated MST3K's '66-'69 seasons. The movies were especially unwatchable, the robots were glorified sock puppets, and Winston was a terrible host. Those awful rants about how the Cold War was being handled date the show terribly, and it was embarrassing to see him cry every week. Rough stuff.

The '66 to ' 69 seasons were a blur to me. Too much acid, man.

Well, yeah, 66-69 were weak. That's why the Brains don't want those seasons released on DVD.
