Hey everyone. So I'm putting together an article for Cracked.com on "Legendary shows with episodes you absolutely cannot see" and I want to include the three Season 0/KTMA MST3K episodes that have gone unreleased and have no fan copies available.
Thing is, I have to include why you can't see them, and I need a good source on it. I've found this interview with Jim Mallon from about five years ago where he says he plans on releasing them as soon as he can find a place he can trust not to accidentally destroy the original tape. BUUUT I've been told that the official MST3K book says that they're actually unreleased because of both legal issues and the team not really wanting everyone to see their early work that just isn't as good. Plus five years is an awfully long time to just not get around to finding a transfer place. I'd use the book as a source, but Cracked requires online sources you can link to. A book published on Google Books is acceptable, a print/Kindle book is not. No scanned book pages, either. Other sources they won't take are: -Wikis -Blogs -Forum posts So, anyone know any sites I can cite? Thanks!

I know I've read more than one interview online with Joel where he basically said it will never happen for both rights issues and (especially) quality issues. He compared them to a garage band's demo tapes, as I recall.
If you poke around here enough, you'll find some links to interviews with most of the Brains. I'm sure the question has been asked of Kevin & Trace, as well.
