My cat, Midnight, left this world to go chase butterflies in the sky today. He was 19. He grew up with my children, saw each off to college, then supported me in the recent dissolution of my marriage.
He was a vigorous young man. A declawed house cat, he forever was trying to escape the house to meet up with the ladies or hang out under the deck. As he matured, he stayed closer to home. His last year or so was spent sedentary around the house. He was down to skin and bones at the end but continued to purr and continued to enjoy people.
Midnight went along easily to the vet. I want to think that he was tired and ready to go. I will miss him greatly.

19 years is a good run for a cat but it's never easy to let them go. Sorry for your loss and RIP Midnight.
