Oh, the spirits did it all in one night... Gen-Con is here, and I haven't missed it!
Seriously, though, anyone else going to the best four days in gaming? It's admittedly a bit of a niche thing as far as nerd conventions go, but it's a fun little expo for fans of games of the board, card, and roleplaying varieties.

Sounds like quite a show, if that's your thing then it should be a blast. I've never been a big convention person when it comes to hobbies and so forth, but I did go to the Pinball Expo in Chicago last year and it was a blast. It's a bit more subdued than a lot of conventions (nobody cosplays at a pinball expo, as far as I can tell), but there's something about being part of a big group of people with shared interests.
Have fun!

Oh, wow... I just checked the event guide and found this. Gen-Con's cover of gaming is often just a front to disguise all the different arts programs that it hosts (I mainly attend for the Writer's Symposium), and this year they're unveiling their Puppetry track with Trace himself as the guest of honor. I wish I'd known about this sooner so that I could... I dunno, prepare questions or something.

As a quick update: Trace's Q&A was awesome! He was fun, sharp, and quick to answer with a joke, but treated all the questions seriously (and gave out freebies to people that he thought gave excellent questions. He ran out of DVD's of Cinematic Titanic's Rattlers before he got to my question, but he had an issue of his "Here Come The Big People!" comic.)
Someone asked him a question in character as Dr. Forrester, wondering why he was always so mean to Joel and Mike. He asked how the questioner found him and thought that he'd been hiding so well, but said that he treated Joel horribly because Joel "deserved it."
He also had some interesting tidbits about the MST3K Movie and some segments that hadn't been included. I don't know if it's common knowledge, but apparently their first script idea at one point included Crow riding a motorcycle through his concept of what Switzerland would look like (filled with things that he associated with Switzerland, like Swiss Miss), passing a Kim Cattral milkmaid, and suddenly having Dr. Forrester and Frank start chasing him through the dream as gestapo agents while having the entire German army helping them.
