Mary Tyler Moore has passed away. She was 80. She was always great.

I only first discovered the Dick Van Dyke Show when I was in college in the 1990s. I immediately developed a crush on her. She was just flat-out lovely. And one hell of a talented comedic actress. If you've never seen the episode of the Mary Tyler Moore Show titled "Chuckles Bites The Dust," it's a very moving, hilarious piece of television. Rest well, ma'am. www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/mary-tyler-moore-dead-dies_us_5668663ae4b0f290e52179bd

As someone who grew up on Nick at Nite reruns of Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore, I have to admit this is hitting me pretty hard. Maybe the only thing that would hurt more is finding out Barbara Feldon passed away.
She was one of America's greatest sweethearts. She could turn the world on with her smile, damn it. And she had spunk. I HATE SPUNK!

Laura Petrie was my first crush. No joke.
This is a sad day.
Maybe I can get Mrs. Atari to put on the capri pants and flip wig later.

The problem with Rob & Laura cosplay is that we end up in separate beds.

The problem with Rob & Laura cosplay is that we end up in separate beds. I believe there's a volume in the Karma Sutra that turns that into an acrobatic kink. Back to Mary. I'm currently watching Mary Tyler Moore on Hulu because I needed to get it out of my system. Unfortunately they only have the first three seasons. But they have all five of Dick Van Dyke so I can always switch over to that.

Kind of a coincidence, over the past few weeks I've been watching the entire series of "The Dick Van Dyke Show", and some of the funniest moments were with her. A sad day.

My very first episode of MST3K way back in 1991 was experiment #318 Star Force Fugitive Alien II. I was channel surfing and came across the show. It was during that long drawn out black hole scene. But for some reason I stuck with it. When that Japanese lady pops up and says something like "I Feel Good" Then Crow quips.. She's got Spunk! I Hate Spunk! quoting a scene from the MTM show. I was hooked... Rest Well Mary... Thanks for the years of laughs..

Walmart honors Mary Tyler Moore by stocking the first four seasons of her show on DVD for $20. They also honor her by putting a sticker over her face. Where's the world-on-turning smile?

Suddenly, the credits for the last episode of St. Elsewhere has become even more unnerving. RIP
