The British Board of Film Classification has released a summary of the new episodes. While information for every episode and its content has not been fully released, the entire running time has been. 14 episodes clocks in at ~1249 minutes, 19 seconds. Average episode is 89 minutes, 14 seconds. The shortest is 86 minutes, 14 seconds. The longest is 94 minutes, 37 seconds. I'm a bit disappointed that episodes are about 3 minutes shorter, on average, than in Seasons 4-10. Especially since they don't have to cut the films for time as much now. I'm guessing that there's a few movies in there that are in the 70-80 (possibly down to 60) minute range that are pulling the average down. Since they're no longer being held to an exact runtime like they were on cable, they're no longer required to stretch host segments out in order to fill time for a shorter movie (for example, The Undead).

As someone who watches bad movies a lot, I can attest that some movies have scenes where there just isn't anything funny to say. Additionally I'd guess that some of the films were probably edited to maintain MST3K's family-oriented vibe.

A lot of older movies, 60's or before only ran 65 to 80 minutes. If you have to cut anything for content, you could end up with a shorter episode. I seem to recall them talking about padding in one of the episodes.

Season 4-10 are shorter that 1-3 because TV channels started putting more commercials in. I have a hunch that these eps are 3 more minutes shorter because that's how many more commercial TV channels have in their shows now than in the 90s, and Joel, et. al., edited these to fit directly into a modern two-hour broadcast channel just in case anyone would want to do that. Honestly, we don't really know exactly when Netflix became the prime broadcaster of these and for how long other channels were in discussions.

If they were made with a tv channel on line the shows should be more uniform in length. Unless its just a difference in how they were edited rather than how they were filmed.

I think the real spoiler here is that cast list, which seems to be confirmation that Land That Time Forgot is indeed getting an episode. That's four of the fourteen leaked movies confirmed.

That is the title that I most hope is true.

It's worse than initially thought. The end credits take up 4 minutes(!) of episode length. Compare that to the old series end credits of only 1 minute, 20 seconds. So the average episode length is only 84 minutes minus the credits. And the shortest episode is 82 minutes.
That's really, really short. Hopefully, since the next season won't need to thank 40,000 people in the credits, their length will be greatly reduced.
I'm interested to see if there's going to be a standalone opening title sequence after the first episode and how long it is.

I'm not gonna let the shortness of the new episodes bother me too much. Is it disappointing? Yes. But MST3K: The Movie was only 73 minutes long, and it's still one of my favorites.

I don't think the long end credits sequence has much to do with the seemingly abbreviated episode length this season. Netflix was committed as the provider well before they shot the show and they don't really have a history of putting restrictions on length. I think that Joel just wants them to be that short and it goes along with the faster pace of the show. I actually liked how quickly Reptilicus moved and am looking forward to see how the other episodes turned out.

Can't say shorter eps bother me either. Often it was down to the awfulness of the movie, but there were quite a few original eps that suffered from pacing issues. That, and my ADD.
