This year's turkey day marathon is starting early due to season 12's premiere on Netflix. The stream started a little while ago. First episode is Moon Zero Two. youtu.be/Zj8z6fyMLKE

Just tuned in and I see they're playing one of Mike's most underrated episodes, Bloodlust!

Now, it's Laserblast. (And they also showed Samson vs. the Vampire Women).

1. Moon Zero Two (i appreciated joel's comments about this one, probably my favorite season 1 ep at the moment) 2. Warrior of the Lost World 3. Bloodlust! (Pearl's first appearance) 4. Samson vs. the Vampire Women (Frank's departure; love the season 6 representation, the most overlooked season) 5. Laserblast (final Comedy Central/Dr. Forrester episode; my favorite of them all) 6. ?
i like this selection so far, some slight crowd pleasers but mostly atypical choices. they're going with a "landmarks" theme for the 30th anniversary although i feel the first two choices are a bit loose (with good enough reason i'm sure) in that regard, being a) a solid early episode that usually doesn't get much attention and b) a great one from joel's last stretch of shows. (i would have picked a different once since they just showed Warrior last year)

I love season 6. Glad to see at least two episodes from that season were featured this year. It may not be the best season, but it's one of them. Some of the worst movies featured on the show were in season 6, which may be a turn of to some people. Me, I've always loved the bottom-of-the-barrel stuff.

closing out with Cry Wilderness. that's fine, it wasn't one of my favorites from season 11 (which i really only liked about 3 episodes from tops) but i get why most people loved it. i figured they would get one episode in for jonah, although i was starting to think they would show something from season 10 (which is now the ONLY season that's never been represented in any of turkey day marathons so far)

Season 6 has been my favorite of the Mike era. Great riffing, good choice of movies, loved how the sets had a darker look, etc.

I began getting really annoyed with the "MSTie Memories" every single commercial break, and how repetitive they got. There's only so many times you can look at rear projected giant ducks in one day. I'm always happy to spend all day watching MST3K, and the sneak peak of season 12 was very cool (abeit very, very brief), but I felt like there needed to be more of interest peppered throughout instead of the same Manos and Mitchell clips over and over again.

Great marathon! Appreciated Cry Wilderness as the representative of the new series.
The thing about the Turkey Day Marathon is that it's easy to just have it on in the background while you're doing stuff on Thanksgiving Day. I'm going to have to make an effort actually watch an episode or two of the new series when it goes live, you know?

I didn't see much of the marathon, as I had church and work back-to-back, but I saw a few segments. Looked like it turned out OK, and I thought the jacket Jonah wore looked very cool.
