I know “City Limits” had a slate card (as evidence by its DVD release), but it was RARELY shown in ANY airing of the episode. I know someone on here has a 1994-1996 copy (I don’t know when the rights to that one expired), evidence by the Comedy Central logo at the beginning (during the “Wooooooooah - HEY!” era), that only BRIEFLY shows the slate before the episode starts. Similarly, 504 - Secret Agent Super Dragon has a slate that would flash briefly before airing when it was on TV, but the twitch release of the episode has it fully intact.
I really hate that with Shout’s later Rhino re-releases, they just went back to the “Rhino Day/pre-2011 Shout releases” of just releasing the episodes raw without the “Turn Down Your Lights (where applicable)” bumpers or slate cards at the beginning of episodes 201-402 and 403-519 respectively. We could have had a DVD release of “Secret Agent Super Dragon” with the slate card on their volume 12 re-release.

No no, not Aztec Mummy, Robot Monster. Re-uploaded my copy on Archive.org. The one on Youtube was claimed by a shady copyright management company. Even though its clearly a public domain movie. Oh well.

Well, at least it wasn’t Wade’s estate coming after uploads of that episode. That’s what I personally suspected what was going on.

Its the same company that claimed Bride of the Monster "W4tch TV". They're notorious for this kind of thing. It could be adjacently related to Wade, but who knows for sure.

I have to be honest, the more I watch 1990 and 1991 (before October) broadcast airings…. I really, really, REALLY miss Penn’s voice overs…. Pre-October 1991 Comedy Central makes me feel like I’m eating buffalo wings with ranch instead of blue cheese (the former of which I don’t mind as a dipping sauce but wouldn’t be my preferred).

With the wonderful help of Kolos and all my thanks to him as well, I have a couple more broadcast recordings of episodes from my collection that he didn’t wish to personally upload (and weren’t otherwise already posted by him either): 403 - City Limits - 6/20/92 (10 AM): youtube.com/watch?v=cYw449RHs9c(Please note: this recording is incomplete because my dad taped over a good portion of the original 10 AM recording with the 7 PM airing the same day for whatever reason, so I decided to at least archive what I had of it. Hopefully the full 10 AM airing will surface one day. Kolos alternatively has the 7 PM airing on his channel). 318 - Star Force: Fugitive Alien 2 - 7/24/92 (12:30 AM): youtube.com/watch?v=SSEfR6Krzxs408 - Hercules Unchained - 8/1/92 (10 AM): youtube.com/watch?v=yvqUswx10j4(Please note: I had to edit out an SNL commercial which ended up getting the video blocked no thanks to NBC Universal, so I have the full, unedited recording on an Internet Archive link in the description. Kolos alternatively has the 7 PM airing on his channel). 422 - The Day the Earth Froze - 1/16/93 (7 PM): youtube.com/watch?v=1JKePvwR1Tg (Kolos alternatively has the 10 AM airing on his channel). 423 - Bride of the Monster - 1/23/93 (7 PM): youtube.com/watch?v=_t_7oW6TaWU(Please note: the recording ended up getting blocked by that stupid “W4TCH TV” company, which I’m 90% convinced is related to Wade Williams’s estate, so the full thing can be viewed in an Internet Archive link in the description. Kolos alternatively has the 10 AM airing on his Internet Archive link which he’s given up on posting on his YouTube channel, understandably so). 502 - Hercules - 7/18/93 (10 AM): youtube.com/watch?v=EHR0dzqXCrY501 - Warrior of the Lost World - 7/25/93 (10 AM): youtube.com/watch?v=ZY6xgbTHnws503 - Swamp Diamonds - 8/1/93 (10 AM): youtube.com/watch?v=GVwC1vw0XYA(Please note: The recording ended up getting blocked at the very end due to a bit of SNL being included in there; again, you can thank NBC Universal for that. So while nothing from the actual episode broadcast from start to finish got it blocked, the unedited recording is otherwise available to view on an Internet Archive link in the description. Included also at the end is what remains of a July 1993 recording of “War of the Colossal Beast,” which I’m guessing is the 10 AM airing on 7/11/93. Hopefully one day that shall surface as well).

This company has gone after “Bride of the Monster” and “Robot Monster” in particular, two movies Wade would often go after in spite of the latter being in the public domain in the first place. That’s what makes me more convinced honestly.
I mean hell, I’m willing to bet this same company is probably gonna start going after uploads of “The Crawling Eye,” “The Slime People” and “Project Moonbase.”

Even Wade was like "give me your print so that I can burn it because it's not mine" with a showing of Plan 9 From Outer Space.

I've been watching "Mighty Jack" from a broadcast edition on YouTube. It's interesting seeing TFNWSRN from back when they'd show comedy from before, say, 2000. I mean, they had Laurel & Hardy, Ernie Kovacs, Jack Benny, Alan King... comedians today's audiences have absolutely no notion of.

The Vol 12 DVD has the slate card fully intact.

Okay, but is that the same case with “The Rebel Set” as well?

Okay, but is that the same case with “The Rebel Set” as well? No, I haven't compared them in depth but I think that one literally is just the Rhino transfer ported over, like the volume 7 discs. The really bad examples are the "Singles Collection" ones, where they actually did fresh transfers for episodes like "I Accuse My Parents" and still dropped the opener.

And this is why I’ve not been a fan of a lot of Shout’s later releases. It really feels like around 2015/16 is when they just started to get sloppy with their new and re-releases.
