Posted an overview of the Manos Livestream tributeThough like Santo, it'll be subject to change once the final product is released (the show opens with a notice that was we are seeing is a kind of rough cut)

Also, Bridget and Mary Jo dropped a new short on the same night - in celebration of St. Patrick's day, a piece where a couple of cheaply animated leprechaun's discuss the history of the "Potater chip" and potater chip recipes. (and there's currently a sale, so you can save a bit if you pick it up now) I enjoyed it, lot of good hearty laughs to be had. And this time out Bridget and Mary Jo are credited as the writers. "Must you fart on my head?" - Bridget doing leprechaun voice

I originally was just going to post this here, as a wee paragraph, but it ran a little longer than anticipated, so I worked up a page at the blog. Probably better there anyway... The Migizi Shorts

Well, our host predictions went wrong right out of the gate. Jonah will be hosting the next episode, not Emily, as per the Gizmoplex...
"The soft launch BACKER PREMIERE LIVESTREAMS continue with Episode 1302, as Jonah and his crew mind themselves caught in the middle of "Robot Wars," a 1993 sci-fi featuring Barbara Crampton and endless stop-motion robot battles."
Edit - looks like they are shuffling release dates at the VHX site.... so it now looks like we do have a short/special event in April - update, and now we don't have an event in April.

Robot Wars - So I approached this Livestream a little differently. I didn't take notes during the show, I wanted to be in the moment, and see how that worked out. Also, not going to rush posting a review, the last 2 times I did that I wound up remembering things and spending the week on rewrites. So no link tonight, that'll come later.

Well, that was quick... I thought I'd sit and think on it, and re-watch it in a few days. Instead, I re-watched it this morn, took more notes and posted the review... Robot WarsI'm still unsure on what I'm going to do when the Plex officially launches in May, how I'll organize these (new pages, or just amend the current reviews) - they are saying there could be changes made, will I remember or notice what those changes are, especially if they are subtle ones? I'll have to wait and see. Also added a few more Beatle riffs.... Netflix-Gizmoplex era

"A personal Zamboni? I'm in!" - Mary JoB&MJ tackle a new short that teaches ladies in the military how to look good, and that's about it, etiquette pretty much gets shoved to the side. This was gold, Mary Jo & Bridget mix beauty tips with military terminology, movies and such, and do good job pointing out the odd ball stuff (recasting the woman who sings and teases her hair as someone whose mind has finally broken). Big laughs, this is the kind of home run I wish I was getting in MSTs 13th season. (Come on MST, I really need you to knock one out of the park)

Picked up Rapid Assault during the Easter sale. After the success of 'Trax previous Fred Olen Ray riff, Fugitive Rage, I eagerly sought out this one - and while the baddies are just as smug and vile (and have a ridiculous underwater lair, that calls to mind the interiors of the Southern Sun), it's not quite the near masterpiece Rage was. Still, I was happy with the purchase, enjoyed a good number of laughs, and the mood between the trio is upbeat - after all these years they still sound like they are having fun Oh, and yes, Oregon once blew up a whale. Have they referenced this incident before? Because that came out of left field for me, I wasn't expecting Trax to pull a joke from 1970's Oregon (though the reporter covering the story described it as being "like a blubber snowstorm", so that certainly sparks the comedy imagination), they also name drop Vitas Gerulaitis, Mark Spits, Irwin Mainway, Captain & Tennille, and George Jefferson, so they were in a 70s frame of mind it seems.

Not sure if this is still the right place to post Beatles stuff. I was laid off at work for a few months and didn't listen to my MP3 rips or watch any episodes, but I've been back for about a month now. I've been through the rest of my rips now and found a couple of corrections.
The entry for 608: Code Name: Diamondhead says that in the short Tom notices that Admiral Halsey joins in the parade. It was actually Crow.
The entry for 616: Racket Girls says during the long wrestling scene at the beginning of the movie Servo makes a comment. Again, it was actually Crow, and the exact quote is: "No wonder people went nuts over The Beatles. This is all there was."
One that may or may not be a correction, but more of an addition. Not necessary to change it unless you want to. I don't want to get too nit-picky. The entry for 912: The Screaming Skull just says: As woman screams and screams and screams: "Oh great, she's playing her Yoko Ono albums." It was Jenni screaming, naturally, and Crow made the comment.
I only noticed these because I printed out the lists and checked the listings for each episode as it started to see if that episode had any. If I heard something I checked back. Otherwise I wouldn't have noticed at all.
Oh, and I recently got the Criterion Collection Blu-ray/DVD set of A Hard Day's Night. Haven't checked out the content yet but I have seen the movie a couple times. And I hope you enjoyed The Beatles: Get Back. I've watched it twice. It's still available on Disney Plus.

Thanks, updated with credit given.
And A Hard Day's Night is one of Criterion's finest releases. The picture, the sound and extras are all a dream.

"He was up all night learning his lines" - MJ New short from Bridget and Mary Jo, and yeah, it's a kick, they tease the words, the dim bulb actor and each other (at least once). The short stars someone who looks like he might be somebody, I kept thinking "who is that actor?", shortly after I realized I was thinking of Nick Stahl, he kind of looks like Nick Stahl. Maybe he's Nick Stahl's dad. Mary Jo Pehl is credited as the writer, along with Karyn Vanderkooy I have to add that while I'm loving the shorts, I'm a little disappointed that we've only had one feature length offering from her and Bridg this year. Another from MJ, I posted a short, wee, overview of the newest Mary Jo Pehl Show

Adding to MJ's speculation about who is hosting what episode this season, Jonah let some slip while doing Twitch interviews this week. On Rolling Stone he confirms Munchie is hosted by him while on Den of Geek they bring up Demon Squad and he almost inaudibly says what sounds like "That's a Joel episode" while the host is talking.
So I guess we're looking at:
Santo in The Treasure of Dracula - Jonah Robot Wars - Jonah Beyond Atlantis - Emily Munchie - Jonah Doctor Mordrid - ? (likely Emily) Demon Squad - Joel Gamera vs. Zigra - Jonah The Batwoman - ? The Million Eyes of Sumuru - ? The Shape of Things to Come - ? The Mask - Jonah The Bubble - ? The Christmas Dragon - Joel, Jonah, Emily
Patch numbers from the Kickstarter confirmed Jonah will be hosting six episodes solo, so that means he has one left that's unassigned. Emily has four solo episodes this season, which gives her three more slots and one of them is likely Mordrid. Joel's second episode is up in the air.
Right now I'm guessing the episodes between Gamera and The Mask are going to alternate between Jonah and Emily and The Bubble is going to Joel.
