www.eventbrite.com/e/the-mads-are-back-live-riffing-with-mst3ks-the-mads-tickets-616092548397?aff=ebdssbdestsearchProducer Chris Gersbeck did post something that's kind of disappointing in The Mads are Back Facebook group. As Dumb Industries grows, we are increasingly under scrutiny by Vimeo for our large bandwidth usage. This month’s download includes the entire show — the intro, the shorts, and the entire Q&A with Walter Chaw — but going forward, only the movie portion of the event will be downloadable. You will still be able to stream the intro and Q&A, along with bonus features like the pre-show reel and trailers, but these extras will not be downloadable. This will cut back on our bandwidth usage by 50% and can ensure that we don’t have to raise prices on anything. We know changes to how you access Dumb content can be frustrating or confusing, but we are a very small team trying to provide a seamless & affordable experience to everyone. Thank you for understanding and for your continued support! Any questions, just ask! I've toyed around with editing the files down to just the film anyway for rewatches, so my feelings are mixed. I don't usually rewatch the Q&As, just the film.

Hmm, risky, might anger a lot of viewers. He should really just make both available at two different prices. Maybe even do something like make the just movie a dollar less than current, and then make the full package 2 or 3 dollars more than current. Then it's win/win.

With Darkstar there were basically two options, you could pay $10 and access to the live premiere, or you could pre-order the VOD version for $10, but you didn't get access for a few days. I went with the latter, because I like to watch at my own leisure. I wonder if something like that might be doable?

So, it's the size of the file he's worried about, and he's trying to reduce that, so Vimeo won't hassle him... is that what's going on?
I do watch the Q&A, though it's not a big deal if I can't download it.
Darkstar was the same, you could download the show, but not the bonus material.

Yeah, that seems to be the issue.
I'm sure that if someone really wants to download the Q&A stuff it will be available out there somewhere.

Watching now. It streams on YouTube and there was a problem with the stream. They sent an email with a new link but it took me a while to get it and I missed about half the movie.
The riffing on the mads is ok, not great. You really miss Mikes writing when you watch these post-MST riffings.
