BEST--- Dr. Strangelove. An almost flawless film. Great cast, lots of quotable lines, and the very definition of "dark comedy".
WORST---Barry Lyndon. By no means a "bad" film, but unless you love 3 hour-plus stuffy period costume dramas, this will put you to sleep instantly.
MOST NEGLECTED---The Killing. The film that made the critics and public sit up and take notice of him. A film-noir/thriller about a perfectly-planned race-track heist slowly gone wrong. Features the late great Timothy Carey, who guns down an innocent racehorse!

Best: 2001, though Strangelove is close.
Worst: Never seen Barry Lyndon, so I have to go with Eyes Wide Shut.
Most Neglected: Paths of Glory-the greatest anti-war film ever made, arguably.

I love Stanley!!
BEST: A Clockwork Orange. (Just because) Worst: The Shining. (Good, but riffable) Most neglected: Barry Lyndon. Even though I never saw it, I heard that American critics hated it, and NO ONE should hate Stanley.

I'm not much of a fan. I took a film criticism class in college and we watched/analyzed a bunch of his films. If he wasn't being too pretentious and vague, he was being overly extreme for shock value with little purpose.
I enjoy Dr. Strangelove, but mainly for Peter Sellers and George C. Scott.
I think A Clockwork Orange is one of the most bloated, overrated pieces of celluloid waste ever produced. I'm all for art and satire and all that crap, but it made me ill to watch that movie. And I think I got an A on my analysis, so I'm pretty sure I "got it".

My turn? Oh thank you.
BEST: Dr. Stangelove/ 2001 (a tie, yes). But my fav. is Clockwork Orange, no matter what Rick Morranis or squat crimson pig, say.
WORST: Not that it's bad, but Eyes Wide Shut.
MOST NEGLECTED: The Killing, as any non-Kubrick fan doesn't know of it.
MOST BEAUTIFUL: Barry Lyndon. As a critic once said, it's like one of those old paintings, come to life.

My list is a little different
Best: a tie between A Clockwork Orange and 2001, though personally I'm a clockwork fan..
Worst: Full Metal Jacket (as one film reviewer put it: couldn't a director as great as K. come up with a better situation than yet another take on ten little indians?
Most overrated: Dr. Strangelove. Sure it's hilarious. I really like the film, but ultimately the satire is way too simple...his least complex film.
Most neglected: Eyes Wide Shut. I know this film is not well liked. But I think it's mysterious and brilliant and have liked it more and more with each viewing.
