While Pearl remains one of the most polarizing characters on the show, Prof. Bobo has his fair share of champions and critics.
Personally, I didn't find the good professor to be too funny. Clearly, he had his moments. Who could forget when he burst into song (Asia is always funny) during the Overdrawn at the Memory Bank telethon?
On the whole, however, I found his character too one-dimensional and mostly unfunny. Bobo may have appealed to the younger viewers, but I found him to be annoying more often than not.
Does anyone else agree or disagree?

I guess I'm a Bobo champion, if those are the two definitions that we have to go with. Now, I've only seen one episode with Bobo before Brain Guy came into the picture, Revenge Of The Creature. In that one, Bobo seemed to display a decent amount of intelligence when he was the ruler of the Apes, second only to Pearl. His character seemed better in that episode than in the later ones with Brain Guy. However, I still liked 'im. I can't explain why, but I liked 'im.

Maybe it's because most of the episodes I've seen are from the SciFi era, but Bobo is pretty funny in my opinion.

I enjoyed how his character acted with Stephanie The Babysitter.
"No bark!"
"Please don't treat me this way! I'm not a dog! I am a distinguished professor of anthropology from a distant future where apes evolved from men!"
*Beat of silence*
"No Bark!" *Hits him with a newspaper*

I love the babysitter sketches from Touch of Satan. They should have brought Beez back as Stephanie in a later episode, or at least give her more than just two segments. "No Bark!" classic host segments.

I thought Kevin played Ape pretty good.

I always find Bobo funny. Especially when he gets hungry at the most inopportune times.
"I'm soooo hungry, I haven't eaten since lunch. Does anyone have a kinish?"

They always try to kill Bobo! But Bobo is kinda stupid. However, he is mildly amusing.

While the show itself never lost an ounce of quality, I thought the hosts segments dropped considerably when the Mads left. Forrester and TV's Frank were as good as ANY comedy team in history.

Agreed Poe33, they were a great comedy team. Although I think I like the Sci Fi host segs a bit more than some.

Bobo annoys me. Give me TV's Frank as the guy to torture and experiment on any day.

It's the simplistic humor of Bobo that makes it funny. The off the wall comments he makes are funny because it's just a point blank attempt at making fun of Planet of the Apes. I do like Frank better though.
