I decided a while back to watch every episode in order. I have been purposely watching one episode a day every day since November and will continue into April. I wonder if I will go into withdrawl when I reach the end.

I think riffing GREAT movies would be just as easy and as much fun as riffing the crap!

I was watching Kurosawa's masterpiece, "Ikiru" the other night with Mrs. Sampo. And the riffs were coming so fast I couldn't stop them. I wish I had taped myself watching the film, because some of them were tremendous and I know I'll never remember them. I do remember that because it was a black and white Japanese film, most of the riffs had to do with Gamera.

I loved doing it too. I remember I was riffing Julius Caesar in class I screamed at the top of my lungs when I saw tire tracks in the backround! TIRE TRACKS!

I try to watch at least three episodes a week. Otherwise I start to have withdrawals. My husband thinks I'm mental.

As she had never seen Ikiru before, I tried really hard not to ruin her experience, so most of the riffs were under my breath.
For what it's worth, your first time seeing a Kurosawa film (especially Ikiru) is one of those life-altering moments everyone should experience.
Anyway, she approves of my hobby, and she'll laugh at the little snippets of episodes she catches, but she's a casual fan at best.

You riffed Ikiru? Shame on you! Ahh well, I once riffed a sermon, just a tiny one. Just one added word, I couldn't help it.
"And when Jesus calls, you go" "girl!"
My wife still laughs about it. One word, and it's the thing she remembers out of all the more clever, funny things I've said that has made her laugh.
Father forgive me.

Hah, nice one MightyJack.
I occasionally riff at commercials, or the beginning credits of a movie playing on TV. Just the other day, Under Siege 2 was on, I couldn't help but say (at the title screen) "The OJ Simpson story." I dunno if it was the great, but the other guy who was sitting there laughed.

I've got the best gig, because I work at home, so I watch at least one episode each day. Most days I watch two. Because I spend so much time at my computer, I've managed to accumulate a complete collection, and I've transferred it to disks. Now, I'm improving even that by getting excellent eps from the MST3K Digital Archive Project via eDonkey. I recommend that to anyone with broadband. The eps are excellent, and almost all of the KITMAs are there too. Typically, they were very hard to get, and these are excellent.
My suggestion is to download them, burn them onto disks, and take them to work. Watch in a small window on your desktop with headphones and hope no one sneaks up on you!!
