While I hold no ill will towards Wade, he really sounds like he’s just having a self-entitled temper tantrum in those comments of his.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytSkLXWeK4gHere is an interview with Wade himself, and it's far more interesting to hear what he had to say about Susan Hart. Even he wants to see her films get released, though he mentions that her want for money. He also says that Shout! Factory are nice people, which makes the whole discussion around RXM really confusing.

This is incredibly interesting - they even talk about the double "the" in "Attack of the The Eye Creatures".

FWIW, Wade Williams has begun licensing some of his films. An HD transfer of Plan 9 popped up on TCM a few months ago and Giant from the Unknown recently hit Blu-ray. Rifftrax also just did Invaders from Mars.

I thought when I heard Rifftrax was doing Invaders From Mars that it might be an indication of some movement on the WW licensing front. Fingers crossed.

He's licensed lots of stuff for MST3K, he's just been quite vocal about not wanting to license Rocketship X-M for release.
Unrelated to that, but since Shout is streaming Quest of the Delta Knights, I'm hoping that it will end us as one of the classic episodes Joel picks for Kickstarter backers. For a longer shot, I'm hoping it might be included as a bonus in the Season 13 blu ray/DVD set.

Though I would love to own that episode on DVD, I think the classic series and the new series should be separate when it comes to physical releases. If and when we can get a legit 4 disc Vol XL with 416, 905, 906 & 913, is the only time I think it should come out.

So Joel is offering 913-Quest of the Delta Knights as a digital reward in the new campaign. Which makes it pretty clear that Shout Factory has finally tracked down the rights, the question is why they're not releasing it on DVD.

Was that even in question? It was confirmed they found the rights holder on this very board back when they released it on Twitch. Likely because they're still waiting out/negotiating remaining Paramount titles. Releasing a single episode online is a good way to appease fans while the process continues.

Not really my go to choice for a reward but *shrug* I understand people do want a copy of this episode.

Delta Knights wouldn’t sell too well as just an average single release. I’m hopeful Shout is making deals with those remaining three movies yet to see release.

I figure they're waiting to see whether or not a Paramount deal works out before they go full steam ahead on any physical for Delta Knights. A die-hard would probably buy the single release in the meantime, but I would personally rather they waited until they knew concrete whether or not volume 40 is in the cards and a Delta Knights single be only a last result if they had no other possible episodes to pair it with.

My guess is the fact that Shout gave up on their Shout Selects series of MST3K singles pretty quickly, and never did another "special edition" after Manos was probably a sign that MST3K episodes weren't great sellers as single releases.
