Does anyone know where the old version for this thread is? I've done a search on here but I can't find it. Like a few other people, I've been using this thread to decide what I should order from skyroniter. I'm trying to stay away from the 'extremely likely' ones but I would be real interested in looking at the old thread to see how the current Rhino releases were listed.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Broadsword. Why would you want to look at the out-of-date one?

Um. I mentioned this awhile back, but DIGIVIEW had to pull out their Gumby DVD (which had Robot Rumpus on it) after complaints from the owners of Gumby. That would definetly pose a problem for Rhino. I think that should be changed to "Extremely Unlikely."
I suppose Rhino could release 912 and just not publisize that there's a gumby short on it. Then we could see just how long it would take for them to notice.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Broadsword. Why would you want to look at the out-of-date one? Because I was curious to see how accurate the predictions had been on the more rencent Rhino releases (Wild Rebels, Sinister Urge, Teenage Strangler, etc..). If they had been completely off-base, then I probably wouldn't have paid much attention to this thread. However, since most of the predictions on the thread turned out to be right on the mark, I will continue to stay away from the 'extremely likelys' when ordering episodes. At least until the titles for volume 11 are announced anyway! Thanks for taking the time to do this, by the way. Very informative and appreciated.

You know, I was thinking - maybe this should be hosted on the web somewhere. I mean, like an actual web site, or a blog or something. Just a thought.

Yeah, anything would do the job. Just so that someone doesn't necessarily have to search through a board to get it. Not necessary, but worth thinking about.

Interesting.. so Classic Media is putting out better DVDs than Rhino. That's lame they replaced the original music. 912-The Screaming Skull won't be released by Rhino anytime soon. Usually I'd be the last to say this, but there's still a chance. If they could get the rights from Classic Media, the Gumby owners, or Capitol.. Rhino did put the license information for the short from SWAMP DIAMONDS... and that movie was PD.

Travis, as always man, you do an excellent job on this. I think I asked this before but how do you get all of this info?

I've updated the list for the upcoming Vol. 11. Travis, as always man, you do an excellent job on this. Thank you. ;D I think I asked this before but how do you get all of this info? Lots of places. I look up any possible DVD and VHS releases, and the companies that put those out + whether that company licensed them from anyone. Amazon, DVD Empire, Ebay, etc. I check out the Copyright Office website, which doesn't help with home video rights.. but can help with whether or not the movie is still copyrighted by anyone. Plus some misc searches all over the internet for other information. There are still a few movies that allude me, like SECRET AGENT SUPER DRAGON and NEST OF SPIES (aka DANGER! DEATH RAY). Those kind of obscure foreign productions. Plus some of the movies FVI put on TV (TIME WALKER, THE STRANGER, and CITY LIMITS).

Yeah. From what it seems, INI bought FVI in the mid 80s. They used the name on some of their reedited releases (like the ones on MST3K), and either went out of business or not. I'm pretty sure the home video rights for those films are all over the place, and INI/FVI just held the TV rights.
I'm guessing on ones like Danger! Death Ray, they almost certainly have to have reverted to the original rights owners by this point. If they don't have a US release, I would say likely for release, as all I think Rhino would have to do is go to the copyright holder, and it's a matter of yes or no. The yes makes more sense since they'll get an American release that they may not have gotten, and it also won't hurt if any domestic versions are released.

Dammit, I wanted to see how accurate your likelihood ratings were for Volume 11's episodes. Could you please repost those odds?
