Don't mean to get political, but what do you all think about Saddam Hussein being captured today? ;D I think it's great news, but it's going to seriously hyped up. Not until they get everyone who supports him (and could take over his power someday), will the war really be over. It does make me feel that we accomplished our goal. That lives were not lost for nothing. On a side note, I think that after hiding in a miserable hole for months, Saddam bears a striking resemblence to Osama Bin Laden.....

I think Saddam's unwillingness to resist when captured might put an end to most of the gorrilla warfare. Why would anybody want to risk their ass for him after he gave in so easily?
Not only that, there was said to be a lot of money found with Saddam when found which was beleived to have been used to fund attacks on the troops. If that is in fact the case, thier funds are now cut off.

In a hole, in the ground there lived a ragged old, bearded ex-leader. Not a clean happy Hobbit hole. But a dirty, smelly nasty hole full of bits of worms and crawly things. And that means GOTCHA!!!! I really loved watching the video of them searching his hair for lice and the "mouth search". Too bad they wont reslease the video of the "body cavity" probing. Tee hee!

I thought what Saddam said when he was captured was kinda funny:
"I'm Saddam Hussein, I'm the president of Iraq and I'm willing to negotiate."
Negotiate? I mean, did he think he was still in power???
And the reply from the soldiers who captured him was priceless:
"President Bush sends his regards."

I've been enjoying seeing people trying to put a negative spin on this incident.
No offense to anyone's political views, but there have been some negative spins to this that were pretty funny (a few of them seemed to have legitimate points, but for the most part they're funny).
I think David Letterman summed it up with his "Bush Captured Santa" clip, though.

So what do you think Saddam's punishment should be? I think it should fit the crime. I'm not really into torturing criminals, but for the millions he's killed, I think there's an exception. Like let's put him feet first into the plastic shredder.

I'm down with the whole torture idea. They should start by covering his jail cell walls with nude Bea Author posters.

I'm opposed to torture in general, though I must admit that it's very tempting in this case.
Still, any cruel treatment could bring sympathy from some group or other that could get him out of the prescribed punishment and allow him to get back to mischief.
So we'll have to take the moral high ground and not sink to that level. Much as it'd be fun to, say, have him watch an uneditted Hobgoblins right before an uneditted Manos, it's probably better to make it quick and painless.
My bet is that he's gonna be exiled to somewhere.

You know, I don't really care whether they torture him or not but, as Zappa and Dr. Forrester have said on countless ops, the TORTURE NEVER STOPS!!!! So, take it as you may, I don't care. Do whatever it takes to get the info out of him that may be needed. He's already done enough to others. Don't let it happen again.
