I think maybe you could be watching a short, and every now and then, it would pause for a second while a timer appeared on-screen, you'd have a choice of a bunch of different riffs (as Joel/Mike). You'd have to choose the best (and funniest) ones to get the highest ranking at the end. Maybe you could do something where if you have a lot of points, you could use it to get riffs that work in any situation. The final level could be a whole movie, rather than just a short.
Of course, this will almost certainly never happen, but it's fun to dream, ain't it?

Oh, by the way, I think any MST3K gamers will be interested in this link. www.i-mockery.com/romhacks/tom-servo/default.phpIt's a hack of Megaman 3, starring Servo. It's got a review, and you can download it at the bottom. It's the closest we've got to a real MST3K game right now. Although I'm told it's pretty bad. You're probably best off just reading the review and looking at the pretty pictures.

It's okay, but I prefer the hack of Super Mario Bros. 1 that lets you play as Joel trying to rescue Gypsy from Gamera. Most of the time you get there and it's just Servo, though. Of course, this will almost certainly never happen, but it's fun to dream, ain't it? There's actually a game a lot like that. Way back when Rareware was still called Legend Entertainment, they made a video game based on Who Framed Roger Rabbit. If a Weasel caught you on the street, you had to kill it by telling the best possible joke.

Well, we can dream about a video game, but if you want to hear Mike, Bill and Kevin, riff at your discretion, check out cuts.com because thats what you do.
You just use prerecorded riffs and put em on whatever you want. It's definitely awesome, doing it won me a free track. But having it mst3k style would be rad.
Having like little host segments inbetween to set up the game storyline, having levels and such, definitely a unique idea.

What would a MST3K game be like? I think it would go a little something like... this: www.ifiction.org/games/play.phpz?cat=4&game=314&mode=htmlIt's a Msting of a crappy text-based adventure game called "Detective", and it's pretty neat! You basically play through the game while Mike and the Bots riff on it. There's even a host segment at the beginning and another when you complete the game. Definitely check it out. On another note, I really, really want to see a game based off the MST3K fanfic "3000: A Space Oddity." That would be rad. And also sweet. ;D

What a great idea. This would make a really great contest thread. As for what kind of a game Mst3k would make, I have no idea. I have an addicition to some video games and I'm trying to stay off the bottle.

As much as I love the show, I have a feeling a video game version would be rather boring. I prefer to just sit back, relax, and let the riffs come on there own.

What if there are parts where you have to steer the SOL out of a meteor shower or asteroid belt?
Ya know, get some action involved!

Have Crow and Servo be sucked into some machine that sends them to the world of the B-Movies and the Bots have to fight they're way to the boss or the end of the level. Enemies include Lobo, Manos, Mitchell, Krankor, Satoris, etc.
Possible allies: Torgo, Rowsdower, Robert Fiveson, etc.

Enemies include Lobo, Manos, Mitchell, Krankor, Satoris, etc. Possible allies: Torgo, Rowsdower, Robert Fiveson, etc. That's pretty much exactly the idea I had for an MST3K video game, except that in my concept, Mike, Crow, Servo, and Gypsy all get sent to the B-Movie Universe, and it's Dr. Forrester and Frank that send them there. Bosses included the Phantom of Krankor, Valeria, Coily the Spring Sprite, Torgo, Martin Balsam from Mitchell, Pitch, JC, Ratfink, Scrotor the Mu-Tant, and finally Dr. Forrester himself. All the details are here: forrestcrow.proboards47.com/index.cgi?board=fanfic&action=display&thread=1144796222
