In MST lore, there are a lot of men. There's an indestructible man, there's a brute man. There's a projected man and an incredible melting man. There's even a puma man. But there's only two men worthy of being called "Amazing".
One wore a diaper, and one was friends with a guinea pig. Both were radioactive, though; so that's a plus.
One episode asked us what kind of sin a man could commit in a single lifetime to bring about such calamity. The other episode had a short that taught us that the leading causes of calamity are joy, sex, and old age. Good metaphysical questions, both.
So I ask you, which is more amazing: That a man could grow to be 60 feet tall or that a man would actually be named Faust?
Vote, won't we?

Hmm. Well, on the 'amazement' front, I'd have to go with Glenn... I mean, invisibility is very cool, but if you saw it, you would assume there's just some trick to it... However, a 50 foot guy in a diaper stomping things, there's no faking that.
Which is more useful? Well, for a get-along-in-the-world sort of way, it's our invisible thief-friend, what with the easy 5-finger discounts, etc. Plus, you don't have jets and tanks shooting at you.
Which would I rather be? Invisible! That is, unless I could find that 50 foot woman. I mean, I get no action now, but I gotta think that as the only other 50 foot person with which to 'hook-up', I'd have to be your man!
For which movie I liked more, I'm going with our friend Glenn.
I wonder if Glenn was any good at playing darts?

Being invisible is way more useful than being really, really tall. I also happen to prefer The Amazing Transparent Man as an episode.

Neither episode is one of my favorites, but Transparent Man has a solid short and the extremely funny Deep 13 B&B stetch, so I'll give 623 my vote. And really, no movie that forces us to watch a 60-foot man in a diaper should win any poll, no matter how pointless the poll may be.

I went with Glenn Manning (even his name is manly!) for his colossal freak out--just how one should react when one's government has inadverdently zapped one with an atom bomb, forced one to wear diapers, put one in a circus tent, and taunted one with a tiny dresser. They don't deserve pity! They don't deserve my dignity! Look out Las Vegas, you are my new stomping grounds!
Faust, while having a cool name, was a dickwad with no plan even before he got nuclear-ized. He just didn't have focus and didn't know squat about buttering up your cohorts, just whined constantly about how this cruel world done him wrong. Shut up, Faust. But you had the better short, so just shut up for ten minutes or so.
This is your house and you're in it and I'm out here laughing!

Colossal.
Just for the scenes of him walking around Las Vegas, what with all their giant person paraphernalia.
Plus it's one of the few movie's I definetely remember seeing as a kid. Who could forget the giant hypo spearing a man like an olive at the bottom of a Martini?

I voted for Glenn Manning. Just the sight of the guy in a huge diaper was enough for me.

Amazing Colossal Man for me, too. It's got my vote for great riffing and stupid science (single celled heart ... ). Don't forget the syringe/lawn dart sequence, too.

I gave a sympathy vote for the Transparent Man. On the plus side, it's from season six, and I'd rather be invisible than giant anyday.

I think Transparent Man is an overlooked gem. Not only is the short one of the best ever, but the episode is quite enjoyable, and it has some of the best host segments ever.
Don't you give Mikey no matches!

I voted for Amazing Colossal Man because it's one of my all time favorites. I've seen Transparent a couple of times (maybe) and it didn't do much for me, but I'll give it another try and see if my opinion changes.
