I've been sitting here listening to all sorts of music tonight (it really doesn't matter which night, although I shall tell you. It's Friday December 19, 2003.), anyhoooo, I've been sitting here, as I stated at the beggining of this very long sentence, listening to music. All kinds. "All kinds" meaning "anything". This could be Tangerine Dream or Billy (vomit) Joel. I was just wondering...... Do any of you have a favorite song? Mine is Vincent by Don Mclean for reasons I simply will not go into (or is it "in to"? ) Or maybe it's Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden. whatever! I would like to know if you guys have a fav! Please. Feel free to respond.

At the moment, it's "Let It Down" by George Harrison. Actually, anything by George is my favourite...

Ah yes. Bob Dylan. The wise man who said that "Everybody must get stoned." He's great, but I'm a diehard Beatles fan 'til the end.

My favorite album is Revolver. But the song from that one, that always gets to me is "Tomorrow Never Knows"
Man that song takes me away, I close my eyes and float downstream everytime I hear it. (Which is pretty dangerous if I happen to be on the road at the time)
I can't describe it, it's amazing, it's colossal, it's got gutars recorded on a loop on analog tape until it sounds like a seagulls and holy crap, no one gets that sound today. Because modern studios can work miracles but the toys today make a colder sound, almost steril. Compared to the warmth and explosion brought about by those old time tricks of the trade. (Sorry, the old musician in me gets carried away sometimes.)

I'm with you, Mighty Jack, in your love for Tomorrow Never Knows. Have you ever listened to Love. Their lp Forever Changes was one of my big "discoveries" last year. That's a great album... I listen to all kinds of stuff...cheesy movie soundtracks from the 60's are my favorites, also psychadelic stuff, punk, Sonic Youth type noise, garage, techno, ebm, Johnny Cash, bluegrass, rockabilly, goth, industrial, Herb Alpert, The Carpenters...yeah, that covers a lot of ground, but that's what I like. Just no metal or opera though...my tastes stop at Metallica and Pavoratti....

Right now, i'm obsessing over the song "No Direction" by Bad Religion. Such awesome lyrics, and a super-catchy melody.

For some reason right now, I've been listening to a lot of ELO and Michael McDonald. The Michael McDonald thing started after I watched episode 703, Deathstalker and the Buffoons from Hell. Me and my friend even made Michael McDonald T-Shirts!!! I'll post the pictures as soon as I get a chance. More to come....

Oh yeah, Lee and Maclean another killer duo from the 60's. For modern popsters try Kon Tiki by the Austin Texas band "Cotton Mather" or Andy Bop's nod to the past, a band called "Myracle Brah"

Someone else who likes "Tomorrow Never Knows." Most people I talk to hate it. I agree, though. Revolver is their best album. I don't have the Concert For George yet. Christmas is coming, though, and it was on my list...
