Does E in fact equal M C squared? Yes. Energy equals Mass multiplied by the Speed of Light squared. Dunno exactly what that means, but that is what I learned in school.

It means that if you can get matter to move at the speed of light squared then you convert that matter to energy. It happens in nuclear fusion reactions...
