since this is an election year (hikeeba!) I thought I'd start this stupid thread...
How many presidents are referenced in MST3K? Right now, I'm watching King Dinosaur for the first time in years and the LBJ reference just inspired me...
When that guy picks up Joe the lemur by the tail, Crow riffs "c'mon I learned this from LBJ"...an obvious reference to LBJ picking up his beagle by the ears in that photo I'm sure some of you have seen.
I also remember some Reagan and Kennedy references, but I'm just wondering what everyone else remembers.
vote Clayton Forrester 2004!

The only one I can remember right now is from the title card of "The Chicken of Tomorrow," where Crow riffs, "The Bill Clinton story!" But I know they've made tons of presidential references, including a couple about Jimmy Carter that are right on the tip of my tongue. And they made a LOT of Reagan references, doing his voice and stuff. Oh, and this probably doesn't count, but one of the host segments from "Soultaker" had a photo of Martin Van Buren intercut with Joel's transmission.

Oh, and this probably doesn't count, but one of the host segments from "Soultaker" had a photo of Martin Van Buren intercut with Joel's transmission. The Martin Van Buren thing was hillarious. It still cracks me up. "Why it's Martin Van Buren! Our nation's 8th president!"

One of my favorite riffs in Hobgoblins
To a really bad 80's beat
"It's the 80's, do a lot of coke, and vote for Ronald Reagan."

And they did Jimmy Carter in "Terror From The Year 5000"
"I feel a malaise"
Hmm, for some reason I can't think of Presidents but other politicians are jumping out at me. In "Secret Agent Super Dragon" they said that Dragons boss looked like a Super marionations Frits Hollings. Which killed me because he really did.
And the Monster, as in "A-Go-Go" was compared to Preidential candidate Mo Udall (LMAO!)

They also kept refering to a character in Warrior Of The Lost World as Jimmy Carter.

In Hobgoblins, Mike riffs the old security guard-
"Oh why did Hoover have to lose?"
heh heh, Hoover always brings the funny.

cracks me up too! So obscure! Mike: Hey, now there's another guy, and he's trying to say something! Crow: Oh, it's probably Martin Van Buren again. And he was probably trying to say, "Hi. I'm Martin Van Buren, eighth president of the United States. I was born in Kinderhook, New York......" Great stuff!

Oh, how could I forget "Rutherford B Hayes" from the Painted Hills. (Jonathan looks like him)
Isn't that the episode where Crow gives a rambling essay, which included info on how Hayes invented the pornograph?

I remember in Girl with Gold Boots that one of the motorcycle riders was referred to as Clinton as Buzz pointed a gun at him.

Jimmy Carter wanted Frank to phone him back once Dr F had died in Red Zone Cuba.

They also kept refering to a character in Warrior Of The Lost World as Jimmy Carter. Yep, Persis' character's father did look an awful lot like our beloved peanut farming prez. As they're all shooting and escaping, at one point the Jimmy look-alike grimaces as he squeezes off a few rouds, and someone- Servo-? says"It's a fearsome malaise, suckers!" Had me in tears. ;D
