Because they remade Night of the Living Dead in 1990.
Trust me, it couldn't possibly be any worse than that one.

I've never seen the original Night of the Living Dead, but that 90's movie was utter crap. Not one decent performance or likable character in the bunch and many of the scenes were just laughable.

I watch dawn of the dead religously. Im buying the Dawn of The Dead dvd which is being released the same day mst3k vol. 5 is. Good omen I guess. The transfer is... breath taking and it has Romero comentary.
Anyway... Im looking forward to the remake. It could be horrible... In fact it most likely will, but with all my zombie fan fiction I ever wrote because of watching Dawn so many times, its about time they made a zombie movie... in respect to the old 1978 film and set it to more modern times. Come on.. Ving Rhames! and Omar Epps (....he was good in Brother). The trailer looks decent so Im in high hopes. Though Im also ready for a let down. eh...
They didn't stick to the script exactly (as in be the same as 1978) in this one and they shouldn't. Hopefully this means we wont have Night of the Living Dead 1990 (You'd think Tom Savini would kick much more ass), but I would like an up to date american made zombie flick.. that isnt house of the dead or resident evil... (shudder). I loved 28 days later and I need a good'ol up-to-date seriously american made zombie flick. I hope this one delivers.

The acting was horrible (except for Ben of course), but the concept killed. heh heh heh... oh man..

[glow=red,2,300]Slighty Off The Topic . . .[/glow]
If a remake of Plan 9 from Outer Space was ever made, and I were to direct it, I would keep all the campy-ness and Badness, just with slightly better special effects. I would not like to make that movie good. Don't hurt me.
Back on the Topic. . .
