Usually older music is good. I have that problem with people not knowing anything about what I listen to quite often. I dig some bands like Bloodrock, Blue Cheer, MC5, and such that most people just don't go out and buy everyday.

You assholes. I should've known I'd get that out of you guys, but, that's the fun of it. They're good ass bands. Better than Linkin Park or Dave Matthews.
Jeez, cut me some slack,

I just bought the re-release of Green Day's "1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours". I'm not about to start another Green Day message board argument, but their debut CD was a rock masterpiece.

I just bought the new Norah Jones CD for Mrs. Sampo, and it doesn't suck at all. It's pretty good. Nice jazz licks for a young girl. Good bluegrass chops from her band, as well.
Wait...did I just type all of that?
Ummm....Zeppelin rocks! So does that band with the hair, and that other band that wears black clothes and plays E minor chords really loudly!
(whew. I covered that up pretty well.)

I say plug away Cherokee. I think it's awesome that we have so many musicians and authors on the board. It's a nice network to share our projects with.
As long as it's not corporate pimping, I think it's cool.
[shameless plug] I recorded an independent CD last year of original songs, where I played all the instruments. It's in the vein of the Beatles meet Ben Folds meet Radiohead. I'm reasonably proud of it, and I'd be happy to send anyone a free copy if you're interested.
Just drop me a PM and I'll hook you up. [/shameless plug]#nosmileys

Blue Cheer almost single handedly paved the way for the likes of Black Sabbath and metal everywhere. them and The Who, of course.

And The Kinks. You Really Got Me is kinda like a prototype metal song. Yeah, now that you mention it, it kinda is. Wow, thanks for the insight, I never thought of that. You gotta love some Yardbirds too, in regards to influencing bands, they started some of the best, Servo
