When we last left off, Van Hagar had made his first million dollar invention the Sitcom Radio. Van Hagar now decided that he was going to make his next invention but wasn’t quite sure what it was going to be. So he decided to make some experiment in his lab at Quasar labs. HE ran an experiment he called ‘The Mystery Science Theater’, where he studied the effects of monkey being locked in a room and forced to watch really bad movies. But this experiment was terminated after Quasar labs was taken over by Fred Gizmonic. He was so incensed about leaving, he left his lab uncleaned with all his notes in there for the next people to come in an take it.
After leaving Quasar labs for two scientists, he decided to pursue pyrotechnics, but ended up being a roadie for Poison. He main job was get women for band members. He remembers giving Bret Michaels some advice, “when life gives you lemons, you make, Lemonade”. He heard this from a janitor at Quasar Labs who he heard retained his job with the new owners. He eventually got herpes by just looking at some of the women that Poison slept with and had to leave his position.
After this he wrote his best selling autobiography, The Shawn Michaels Story: How I went from a whining crying ***** and Learned to Love the Bomb. It sold more than 8 copies (8½ due to half of the ninth book missing as it was used for toilet paper by Bubba who ran the presses). But it showed how a kid from Jersey could go from nothing to the pinnacle of basketball. Van Hagar had truly made his mark and now it was time for a career change.
