Today is the annual NYSSMA festival, which is a time where students take their instrument and/or voice and sing in front of judges and sing to get scored on a scale from 1-30. This year I'm singing Caro mio ben, only like five times faster than that. My teacher says I'm good. I'm going at 8:30. Wish me luck!

I can't hear the clip, but good luck! Music competitions are stressful but exhilarating, too. Tell us how you do.

I did it last year, but I was doing some freakishly high voiced castrati peice done all in head voice. This year the song is comfortably in my range. Plus, nex year I'm a bass, as ALL the basses are leaving. I'll be the oldest boy there.

Quit lying. You're trying out for American Idol and everyone knows it. If I was, I wouldn't care. I could never get in, and the auditions are held in September. www.nyssma.org/

Tonight went reasonably well. On one hand I couldn't get a single note right on the sight reading but the judge asked me afterwards "What do you think of your voice?" "I don't know. Okay I guess." "Well, let me tell you something, I don't hear may voices like that on a ninth grader, in fact I don't hear many voices like that in my life." That kinda cancelled out the bad sightreading, but goodbye outstanding .

What that Simon or Paula? I don't know, some fat old guy. I think it was Randy because he was saying "Oof! Oof! Yeah! Aight! Aight!"
