I’ve received orders to a ship for my next duty station. I was thinking about dressing up as a flamboyant pirate when I report for duty for my first time. Eye patch, hook hand, red frilly jacket and every thing.
“AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR! Respectfully request permission to come aboard! AARRRRRRR!”
Then again, maybe not.

I'm guessing that military officers don't have the greatest sense of humor, especially for people dressing up in colorful costumes and using phony accents. But, you could always try it, to see what happens.
