you ever have one of those dreams where you trip so your whole body jerks (in real life) causeing you to wake up? I hate those dreams! cause they usually happen at 3 in the morning. Oh and Ator you mentioned profound dreams, i remember after my friend died I had this dream about him, we did a few things together, (I won't go into detail cause it's a bit personnal for me) but when i woke up I was actually for the first time since he had died happy, for the whole day i couldn't stop smiling. Sadly the same day my dog died (I'm very close to the animals I have) something that would have normally thrown me over the edge two deaths so close together, but I think because of that dream for a while my pups death didn't bother me. i personnally that dream was REAL, and was on that day for a reason.

Someone mentioned sleep pararlysis a while back and I think I've had that happen. My body would go into a sudden shock while I was half awake half asleep and couldn't move. It's terrifying and fascinating at the same time for me. I've had that happen a few times. It was accompanied by an intense hallucination. I was convinced that someone was in the room with me, or laying on top of me, or pressing down my legs. My eyes were half-open but I couldn't open them all the way even though I was trying to as hard as I could. I even heard voices a few times. It was like I was drugged and couldn't move. I kinda like those hallucinatory dreams....

I had this weird dream when I was six.
I was surrounded by chipmunks and they started eating me, but it didn't hurt. And then for no reason I was driving in a car, and worms were tunneling through my seat to my brains. Then comes the weird part, Betelgeuse said he was the worm master and challenges me to a race, if I win, I die, if I lose, I die, if I tie I get my arms, legs, and half my body chopped off. And then I die. If I refuse I die. So he goes at a jaunty pace and I run to the finish line. "Remember, if you win, you die." So I just start going slow and all of a sudden massive metal stalagmites are popping up behind me. I also realize that I'm running over a bridge (for some reason, the landscape was tiny). So I walk slowly and I get impaled. End of story.

I find this talk about meaningful dreams pretty fascinating. I don't know how accurate dream analysis is, but it's fun to think about either way.
I had a dream a couple months ago, that I'm absolutely positive was based on events that happened earlier in the day. I was pretty depressed at the time, and was really sleeping only because it hurt to stay awake.
In the dream there was a yellow patterned background. No ground, no ceiling. Just a yellow background. (I think this particular imagery was based on the background patterns of Dance Dance Revolution, a game I was playing constantly at the time.)
Anyway, there was a small wooden door, about knee high in the foreground with a woman in a bikini squatted in front of it. You could see both sides of the door since it wasn't attached to any kinds of walls. Suddenly the door opens and a bunch of gray mice start running through. The mice were only visible on the side they were coming out of. I couldn't see them entering the door. The woman reaches down and starts devouring several of the mice as they scurry by, then casually looked up and winked at me.
That was it. I'm not going to go into the details of what would cause this dream, but if you're bright enough you might be able to get the jist of it anyway.

Here's mine: I was sitting in my living room and I started to see aliens in the windows. I start panicking, so I grab a gun run out the front door and start shooting at them. It seems bullets are inefective against them, then I wake up. It's not that weird though.

Isn't that called a lucid dream? Where you're like half awake and can control it? Ahh yes, the typical Prince-of-Space dream.

Believe me, I know how it is to lose people who are close to your heart. My closest uncle, my dad, AND my grandpa all died within three months.

Yeah, I got real paranoid for a minute after I woke up thinking it was some "invisible force" or some crap, till I came to my senses that the mind can be so underrated and the connection between the physical and metaphysical is not so distant. I didn't hear voices but it started as a super shiver from my feet to my head and I my ears popped with a buzz that was so loud, I struggled to wake up. Finally I did and had to collect myself before being amazed at what pure fear can do, physically. I know I had a nightmare right before but I forgot what it was. I've also had panic attacks when I was little, with some kind of thumping, low sound in my head that would get louder anD LOUDER and not so loud thEN LOUDER BOO! But not like my brother. When we were little he woke me up once and was like "Ed...Ed...we gotta find the guy.." I said what guy? "You know....the poster guy..." He was still asleep so I woke him out of his sleepwalking. We had a table that was between our beds and one night I heard go "...Rmm...This bed is hard..." Yup, he was lying on the table. We had a good laugh there.

This happens to me often. It is very scary because I feel like I'm not going to wake up.I'll lay there struggling to open my eyes.It takes a a few minutes for me to be able to move.
I've also have the same type of dreams that Ator was talking about.Where I go to punch someone and everything is in slow motion or my fist stops about a inch away from there face.
I also hear a voice. It always happens the first second I fall asleep. Its always the same female voice and it always says my name.

I've had two dreams this week that I was famous, I don't remember the details of either, but I think I wrote a book, and then I become really famous, the oddity is I can't remember ever having a dream that had the same plot twice in my life, let alone in a week! OOOh could you people be posting with a future famous person....don't get your hopes up.

This sleep pararlysis thing happened again to me last night. This time I was unable to breathe. I've been up since 3 am trying to find out more about it all I could find was a bunch of garbage about aliens and evil spirits feeding off your fears. I'm really not into that stuff.I'm not hallucinating or anything because my damn eyes wont open! I've read about other peoples hallucinations. All of them scary figures? Does anybody know how to prevent this from happening?

That was exactly what I was looking for,Thanks.
Before this thread started I thought I was the only one that had this problem. I guess it's more common then I thought.
