Great. Here we go again. Just can't take your eye of those guys.
Looks like it's still available through the info club, though. Something to watch, for sure.

Well once again I hope this doesn't stop Volume 11.

Well, even if Rhino does eventually spiral into a massive loss of rights to the show, at least there's still tape trading. The quality may not be super-pristine, but at least you get more episodes at cheaper prices and a whole bunch of bonus stuff that Rhino would almost certainly never release (promo spots, Turkey Day bumpers, Film Crew stuff, etc.).

And volume 9's the only one I don't have yet! Man, how can I justify (to myself) getting it after just breaking down and buying 8 two weeks ago?

Well that sucks. My guess is it has to do with Krypton International not being a reputable rights holder. Rhino probably feel like dopes because they basically paid Krypton for the rights to these movies and who knows what Krypton actually owns. Luckily for Rhino companies like Krypton basically act like a sheild if someone else who claim they own the rights want to sue. It will be interesting to see if there are any more movies licensed from them on the next set.

If Rhino really has lost the rights to some of the episodes on vol. 9, i think it would be in their best interests to make the next two box sets out of Public Domain episodes.

Well I figured I'd better buy it just in case. They had some decent prices from the amazon.com sellers yesterday.

From SN:
"Several readers have noticed that The Mystery Science Theater 3000 Collection: Volume 9 is no longer listed on Rhino Home Video's web site. Our source at Rhino confirms that it's currently unavailable, but is hopeful that it may return. Stay tuned!"

Yeah, I doubt it's going to be disappearing from stores immediately. They probably just won't be restocked once they sell out.

Wow, another one bites the dust! Let's get some PD eps on box sets. It's safe and cheap!

There are a few possibilities for this:
Something to do with WILD REBELS, since it's a Crown International movie. It really shouldn't be a problem though, since they released this set recently.
Something to do with WOMEN OF THE PREHISTORIC PLANET; Rhino claims they licensed it from Krypton International. I was under the impression that Wade Williams owned it, but either way something could be up with this.
And then of course there's THE INCREDIBLY STRANGE CREATURES... If Media Blasters licensed it from someone else that original party may have had a problem with Rhino's release.
Unlike Vol. 10, there really aren't any issues that immediately jump to mind here. All I can say is Rhino needs to get their act together and start doing better research.
