Screw-up? I'm the Screw-up. I noticed yesterday I entered the wrong address for my ship-to address! Its 1806, not 1896! Called the post office and they "notified the carrier", but I don't know what will happen to my Volume 12. Maybe I'll see if there IS a 1896 on my street. I ordered from Overstock.com and they used the UPS/USPS method. Good Old Post Office. Arrived Saturday. Funny about the SASG vs Rebel Set wrap-arounds. Its like they made the mistake just to see if we find it! And the portraits of Crow & Tom are great. Is that supposed to be Warhol-esque? Too bad they weren't little posters that could be displayed...

Not a screw-up per se, but in Clonus, was the son of the Clonee (the politician's brother) THE WORST "actor" you've seen in a while?
Even the 'bots are like....what?
Just because he's tall, dark and thin, he gets to "act" in a somewhat real movie!
Was this nepotism?

I think this may be one of the best sets to date; the special features, menus, and some of the packaging are much better than previous sets.
The interviews with Don Sullivan and Robert Fiveson were great, both had nice things to say about MST3k! And the trailers were a lot of fun... especially the goofy SUPER DRAGON trailer (CLONUS actually was one of the most effective trailers I've seen in awhile!). I'd love to see a trailer for STARFIGHTERS...

Gee, all quiet on the Vol. 12 front. I'm surprised more people haven't posted thier impressions, as I think this is one of the best sets overall from Rhino yet. Also, no word yet on the next set. Some were thinking they might try to have another one out for Christmas, but that's virtually impossible now. SO when do you think they'll get the next one out? May 08?

I'd love to see a trailer for STARFIGHTERS... I agree with the above. The trailer for Super Dragon sure seemed to hint at a lot of footage that was cut out in the MSTed version. Apparently we missed out on a whole fight scene on a barge, Super Dragon getting shot with an arrow, SD using that weird thing Babyface gave him that was triggered by the ring on his finger, and so on. Makes me wonder if it made more sense, or was in some way a better movie, before all the cuts. As for the Clonus trailer, yow! Definitely not made in the "This preview is suitable for all audiences" era. Lots of breastical- boobical-tushular action in that one. The interview with Don Sullivan made me a little sad. At least, it was sad when he commented it was ironic that a film about three losers should have been made with three losers (including himself) for actors. Fiveson's interview was great, though. His reaction is just exactly what you would hope it would be--"Who am I not to be laughed at? The movie sucked!" And his acknowledgement of the support of MiSTies in the whole Island boondoggle was nice, too. I didn't care so much for the menus. That poor-looking 3D animation went out of style 10 years ago. Sorry, this should really be in a Volume 12 review thread or something.

True on the edited parts we see in the SASD trailer. I was thinking "I don't remember THAT", a lot. And Son of Five was refreshingly humble for a producer.

Super Dragon was a strong episode, but I absoluetly loooooved The Starfighters. I think it's going to go down as one of my favorite epps ever! EVAH!
Extras are great too. Some song oriented host segments I haven't seen before, the Jack Perkins bumpers are funny, and the director of Clonus is a really great sport!
Probably watch Rebel Set in just a little while...

Makes me wonder if it made more sense, or was in some way a better movie, before all the cuts. I noticed that too; it's one reason why I love Rhino putting trailers on as a special feature. According to the IMDB, the original Italian version is 100 minutes and the U.S. version was 95 minutes. So yes, there would have been quite a bit cut out to fit BBI's 80 or so minute requirement for the show. The video master they used may have been edited to begin with (also, look how bad the print was.. lots of jumps, etc.) Also, no word yet on the next set. Some were thinking they might try to have another one out for Christmas, but that's virtually impossible now. SO when do you think they'll get the next one out? May 08? I think them releasing two sets in a year is pretty good. I would expect Vol. 13 maybe in early spring... like March, April, etc.. especially if they go for all-or-mostly PD movie episodes. For those interested, here are some of the most-likely episodes to be released: 103 - Mad Monster 105 - The Corpse Vanishes 108 - The Slime People 402 - The Giant Gila Monster 412 - Hercules and the Captive Women 501 - Warrior of the Lost World 509 - Girl In Lovers Lane 520 - Radar Secret Service 521 - Santa Claus 602 - Invasion USA 610 - The Violent Years 611 - Last of the Wild Horses 616 - Racket Girls 618 - High School Big Shot 620 - Danger! Death Ray 701 - Night of the Blood Beast 817 - Horror of Party Beach 819 - Invasion of the Neptune Men 903 - The Puma Man 904 - Werewolf 910 - The Final Sacrifice 913 - Quest of the Delta Knights 1004 - Future War 1007 - Track of the Moonbeast 1008 - Final Justice

I can only pray that Future War would be on the next set. i LOVE that episode.
As for this set i didn't notice any screw up besides the wrong info on the box for the Jack Perkins wraps. I loved the Starfighters. Never seen that episode before and absolutely fell in love with it.

The host segments are some of my favorites too (Crow trying to log online, "debriefing", "refueling", and of course Tom's wonderful "hymn"... with lyrics from a dozen different songs).

I can only pray that Future War would be on the next set. i LOVE that episode. Same here. I really hope Rhino releases it soon. I think this may be one of the best sets to date; the special features, menus, and some of the packaging are much better than previous sets. I haven't watched "Super Dragon" yet, but yeah...the special features are great and I love the menus for "Parts" and "The Rebel Set". We've come a long way since the lame menus of V-9. And like I said earlier in this thread, the packaging was much better than I expected (based on the cover). For those interested, here are some of the most-likely episodes to be released:
103 - Mad Monster 105 - The Corpse Vanishes 108 - The Slime People 402 - The Giant Gila Monster 412 - Hercules and the Captive Women 501 - Warrior of the Lost World 509 - Girl in Lovers Lane 520 - Radar Secret Service 521 - Santa Claus 602 - Invasion USA 610 - The Violent Years 611 - Last of the Wild Horses 616 - Racket Girls 618 - High School Big Shot 620 - Danger! My copy finally arrived in the mail, and I watched a little bit of each to see how they looked. I'd have to agree with the most of the sentiments here. It's definitely one of the better sets: the packaging is MUCH better than I feared, and I kinda like the animated menus. The bonus features it has are really good, but I feel the sets are still kinda thin in this department.
In any case, it's a well-spent $45. Here's looking forward to #13 (do I sense some sort of Deep 13-inspired motif/artwork? Lots of fluorescent green/Dr. F/Eyeglasses/etc.? Hmmm??? )
