I'm not buying it again. They can either be fair to folks like me and make a way for us to get the new disc, or they can screw off. I am absolutely not giving them $40-50 for three discs I already own. This makes me angry.

I may be in the vast minority, but I am glad that this is coming out. I never got a chance to buy the original and got a copy of Godzilla vs. Megalon on my computer. My hope is that the photo gallery that I understand was the extra on that disc is included somewhere on the set. For those of you who did get it, I do also hope that Rhino will give you a separate disc of Giant Gila Monster. It seems like, as others have pointed out on this thread, that SN was just giving us a heads-up and nothing has been released officially by Rhino, so let's just wait and see.

Even if they do release a single with GGM on it, my completist nature will force me to own both the 10.2 set and the GGM single. I'm just sick like that.
So . . . I kinda hope they don't release a single. But then I do, out of sympathy for my fellow Mysties.

I guess I'll netflix GGM if it comes out. But I'm certainly not going to line up for a first-day purchase on this new twist to a set I already have.

There had better be a single disc that's available worldwide or I'll have to buy the whole shebang again! Essentials was bad enough!

Fairly insulting, if you ask me. After all the trouble I went through to find an original Vol. 10 they pull this stunt. I'm with everybody else who is leaving this set alone because I already have the other three.
Thanks Rhino. I guess.

That's great to hear that Rhino is re-releasing Vol. 10, and the inclusion Giant Gila Monster and something with Joel, Trace and Josh in it is REALLY exciting!
It sucks those of us who want Giant Gila Monster will have to re-buy the set, but if I have to I will. Maybe Rhino will offer some sort of deal... like mail in your proof-of-purchase plus $2.00 postage or something? That would work I think.

Let's just bloody email Rhino and tell them that for those who bought Vol. 10 originally (raises hand), should be able to get a seperate disc of GGM with the new extra features.
Hell, I haven't even bought Vol. 12 yet!

I thought there'd be more discussion about this: Even more exciting--one of the features of the disk will be a short sketch featuring Joel Hodgson, Trace Beaulieu and J. Elvis Weinstein commenting on the SNAFU that led to the withdrawl and re-release. than complaints about the release. I look forward to it as a collectible, if nothing else. (Plus, it's hard for me to get upset about already owning a set from Rhino that has increased in value from $60 to $200+.) Kudos to Travis who predicted this right away I think it's very likely Rhino *will* reissue Volume 10, just with a different episode in place of #212.

According to a little blurb by sampo in the SN comment area for that article, it seems they're looking at that single-disc release. I was only able to get Vol. 10 by renting via Netflix, so while I do now have Godzilla vs. Megalon on DVD, I'll be even happier to get Vol. 10.2. (I didn't own any of the boxed sets--only DAP AVIs--until about 3 months ago, so I missed out. Now I have all but [technically] Vol. 10.)

I wonder if this means the same thing will happen with Volume 9...

Add my voice to the many who already purchased Volume 10. I think it sucks for us hardcore fans, and I do think that Rhino should offer the single disc for those who already purchased it.
I don't think that they owe us a free episode though. I think that paying 10 to 15 dollars for it to be mailed to those of us who send in a proof of purchase is more than reasonable.
Wouldn't it have made more sense for Rhino to re-release Volume 10 with an episode from another out-of-print volume? Then they could have saved "Gila Monster" for a future volume.

"Dear Rhino Customer,
This boxed set is tentatively scheduled for a February 2008 release. There are no current plans for any single disc releases from this set, but thanks for your input. I'll forward your letter to our suggestion box.
Dr. Rhino "

Assuming they're trying to re-release volume #9, what other ep could they have used? *Or do you mean they should use one of the single-disc eps that are still available but haven't been on a collection yet?*

I HAVE Vol. 10 already. I WILL NOT buy this set just because it has 402 on it. EVEN THOUGH the episode is in my Top Ten Faves.
Let's just start a petition asking for a single disc release of the disc. I'd rather pay $20 for a new episode than $40 for three episodes I already own.
I just sent Rhino a "nice" email inquiring about a single disc release. Should they be the bearer of bad news, I will switch into full disgruntled consumer mode.
And btw... Shouldn't the release be called 10.1 and not 10.2?
