I mean, they can still release 10.2 for those who missed 10 the first go around, but it's kinda dumb to expect us who have volume 10 (and went to lengths to get it before it sold out) to spend another forty (or fifty, depending on where you buy it) for one new episode and copies of three episodes you already have.
I think it's a good idea if they release Gila Monster separately.

Just to clarify, I'm fine with them rereleasing this with a new episode, but it's rude and downright offensive to not allow those of us who already own the original to get the new disc seperately. (I don't think it needs to be free.) And please, if this bothers ANY of you, COMPLAIN, WHINE, BITCH, and MOAN. Don't sugarcoat it, don't try to put a positive spin on it, like the poster who said that the double-dipped discs would make good Christmas gifts. This is wrong and unfair. TELL THEM.

I will say this, it's in theory nice of Rhino to get the box set back in circulation. Maybe in the future they should release box sets from a single distributor only (like volume one, which was all Crown International DVDs). I think there were better ways to handel this, like releasing the other three episodes seperately for the fans who couldn't buy the box set. Don't screw over the LOYAL fanbase who already bought your crap. Also, most companies would simply bite the bullet, and because of their own igonrance, buy the rights no matter what the cost, because it was THEIR mistake, not ours.
Also, since I know Jim's droogies are reading. The fanbase is getting increasingly tired of you leasing your footage to a shoddy distribution company. Jim, if you give a damn, either do it yourself or find someone who can. Rhino obviously can't.

I feel most sorry for the people who handed over $100 or more on eBay for this. Granted, that's not Rhino's fault, but now they've spent $100 on Godzilla essentially.

And btw... Shouldn't the release be called 10.1 and not 10.2? Yeah, it should. Being a programmer, I had a minor tic when I first read it. Maybe this means the original release is 10.1 now...

Got a reply to my email. 'This boxed set is tentatively scheduled for a February 2008 release. There are no current plans for any alternate releases of this set, but thanks for your input. I’ll forward your letter to our suggestion box.' Methinks Dr Rhino is going to be doing a lot of copy-and-pasting.

Have you considered decaf ? A single-disc release of Gila Monster will do. lol... for the record, I agree with you. It should be standard procedure when replacing a disc in a previously released set.

Fingers crossed it's right, I got it from the comments section of SN. Looking back it appears to be the same one I used to get my Shrews replacement disc and got responses then. I've just emailed them: I felt the need to get in contact about this future release as I already own Volume 10 and would like to own Giant Gila Monster as a separate disc. The reason for this is that to import another boxset, of which I already own three discs, to Britain would be a great expense to me. I am willing to pay for a single disc release of this episode, like what you did with Red Zone Cuba, Mitchell etc., even if it does just come in a paper envelope. From reading the MST3K Discussion Board and Satellite News it is clear that there will be many other fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000 who feel the same about paying for another set. There is even talk of boycotting Rhino MST3K products which would be a shame as you have done a good job so far of releasing this show and would like to see it continue to sell well enough for you to continue releasing it. Thanks for your time. No doubt my plea will be met with the same automated message, if at all! Same response as the rest of you! I can see them not wanting to release details as there's been no official announcement but something that at least addresses some of the concerns would be nice. Hopefully more emails will make them shift gears. The address again: drrhino@rhino.com

Hell, I even have The Amazing Colossal Man on VHS!
Of COURSE I'll buy it for The Giant Gila Monster.
If I remember correctly, it's a "Captain Morgan school of acting" type of film.
