In a stretch of a coincidence, on the same day that the LOST Season 1 DVD comes out, the world's most famous castaway died. While Denver was world famous for portraying Gilligan, he also was great as beatnik Maynard G. Krebs on the old Dobie Gillis show. To his credit, he was a far more convincing beatnik than Moonie was. Adios, little buddy. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050906/ap_en_tv/obit_denver

I thought it was cool of him to show up at places as Gilligan long after the show was over, and be proud of his character.

geez...Only 2 cast members remain, right? That's very sad indeed...At least he lived a long, full life. He did have a short lived sitcom where he was an invisible man back in the 80's. It didn't do too well...but he always made me laugh as a child...I will miss him...

Russell Johnson (The Professor) 3. Tina Louise (Ginger) I remember the first show I saw Bob Denver in was not Gilligan's Island. It was Far Out Space Nuts. Fun bit of trivia: the G in Maynard G Krebs was for Walter.
