Many people here have taken MST related names and that makes sense on a MST board. But others have names that only have meaning to themselves. Here's a good way to get to know each other. What does your screen name mean? Is losingmydignity really losing his dignity? Why is Blurryeye blurry eyed? Is Vanhagar really that much a Van Halen fan? And what's a Afgncaap5? Maybe more importantly was there an Afgncaap 1 through 4? Ah, I feel honored that my name has specifically been a source of mystery to Phantom. Hm, he also wanted me to post a picture of myself, but my true physical identity will remain a mystery to you all! I suppose I can explain the source of my name, though. One of my favorite bands is Blur, from Britain, a band that had one big hit in this country in 1997, but has been largely overlooked in the U.S. despite being huge in the U.K. The 'Blur vs. Oasis' battles of the '90s were a major identification of character among British music fans. Anyway, their music is greatly varied, but mostly within the genre of pop rock, with crunchy guitar harmonies and gorgeous pop song structure. I really like this band. So that explains the first part. I am also very near-sighted, to the point that an object is not in focus until it is three inches from my face. Luckily, I wear contact lenses so my horribly blurred vision is not a problem for me in daily life. Possibly many others of you suffer from near-sightedness, too. So 'Blurryeye' is a tribute to one of my favorite bands and a hint at my own faulty vision, simultaneously! It's really not that clever, now that I think about it. But I thought it would be a good handle, being distinctive and easy to remember, yet hard to figure the meaning of. So that's that. One veil over my identity has been dropped.

Don't feel alone on that near-sightedness. My eyesight is horrible as well. I can't even read a book i'm so near-sighted. I have to hold it about 6-9 inches from my face or the words become too blurry to read.

Well, as long as I remember to take my medication, of course. I remarket all of my medications to dead heads.

My name comes from "Riding with Death." The stupid cracker's sneaky girlfriend was named Cupcake, then it turned out she'd been a spy for the bad guys the whole time, and Crow riffs, "I will rule the world! Emperor Cupcake!"
There you go.

My name may seem like an easy one, but there is actually a (small) story behind it:
In #422, Crow, as Anakie, says to our hero as he is leaving.( I think on his log)"Goodbye, Lemminkimmen, was it?"
I may be wrong, but it always seemed to me Crow mis-pronounced his name on purpose, instead on Lemminkainen, and it just made that bit funnier for me somehow.
Also, it sounds like Joel calls him that one time as well, I think as Loki-. I could be wrong about all this, but it's funny in my head...
wow. what a story.

Mine actually has a really weird story, it's sorta a joke: You see Decemberish, I was chatting with a friend on MSN, she's also a huge MST3K fan. Well we started talking about Joel and such, and she said he looked like he was on drugs all the time. Well then she started sending me a bunch of pics of him, and changed from saying he was on drugs to saying he was hot. (er I don't see this) but then she started saying how she was gonna find him and do certain things and I told her that that was rape, she was like "you cant rape the willing" and I had to explain to her the rules you have to be 18 in order to be with someone over 21, (oh don't worry it gets worse) then she said I was just trying to get to him before her. And as a game, I swear! I started argueing with her saying Joel was mine, well then she accused me of going with mike, and said that I "spread my Legs like peanut butter" (I love that line) And I told her that Mike and I had broken up over a stupid arguement, she said she was sorry, but there was no way I was getting Joel,, by then I thought that I'd better stop the arguement because it was getting way to wierd for me, so I told her I was just joking about the whole "I want Joel thing" that I was really in love with Crow. Well then we talked about how we where gonna have a future wedding together on Metaluna, and it sorta kept growing from there. Now I constantly scare my non mst3k friends by talking about how much I love Crow, and my name is sorta a way to scare them some more on MSN, (you see my first name is Mary) then I found that I liked it, so now now I'm always to be MaryTRobot. So yeah... I'm engaged to a Robot,...umm yeah, so I told you I was weird.

Nothing extravagant here. For a while now, my online name has been Tranquil Featherman. I have no idea where this came from. I made it up on the spot one day. Then, out of the blue, I decided to shorten it to Tranq. *yawn*......see? Told ya it was boring. And not all dead heads are medicated zombies, Hellcat.

My favorite game of all time is Sid Meier's Civilization II (Civ I was great too and groundbreaking, but I think Civ 3 stinks)...so anyway...way back in 1997 I created "civlyzed" as my user name/email address and have been using it ever since. I started to create a MST related name for this board, but changed my mind and decided to stick with civlyzed. There you have it

Mine actually has a really weird story, it's sorta a joke: MaryTRobot you are one spooky chick! I'm really glad I started this thread. I think we all know each other just a little better. Is that a good thing? Think I'll sticky this to the top so it always will be here for new members.

Mine is pretty easy, In Space Mutiny, when Ryder is struting his stuff in the later half of the movie, M&TB call him these beefy hunky names, but servo says "Bob Johnson" and Mike and Crow are puzzled. I just liked the name becuase my name is pretty simple like that

I used to be into Chemistry, and I think I created the number 2010 for my bike, so I changed my internet address and the name stuck. Since I have seen more MST3K eps, I really wish I had chosen something like "Creepygirl" or "Trumpy".
